It's a win that puts LU over the hump. As for a single game win against a team, I can think of a handful of others. What the win represents though is huge

Bigger that beating the .... Ahem....#1 team in the country for the first ever playoff spot? Praytel?

Does anyone really feel....ahem...they really ARE the best team in FCS? I'd put it up there with the SB win a few years ago and below ASU this year

It would put us in the playoffs and is against the #1 team in the country. It isn't even close. This would be our biggest win ever.

I know we can debate about CCU and if they deserve the #1 ranking but that doesn't really matter. They are the #1 team in the country and if we beat them we are in the playoffs.

It doesn't get much bigger than that in the regular season.

Honestly?? It's hard to weed thru all the Gill bashing and we can't win mess to get to anything rational. So.......not a lot.

I agree what it represents is huge but that would be true no matter who we played in this situation. If it was a 'winner take all' game, that would bump it up the scale. If CCU was a legit #1 as well then yes, it would be the biggest game in history. But only 1 of those is true. Although I can see CCU as a Top 10 team for sure.

It is a great win, but not the best in LU football history. There are a few others that equal or surpass it.

Coastal is a very good team (top 10), but they are not the best team in the country.

How is the a debate? I get that they probably aren't really the best team but they are a legit top 10 team which would be a big win by itself but combine that if we win we are in the playoffs for the first time in our history it clearly moves it into the biggest win in program history.

Which is why I don't think we will win...

Please argue for another game that is bigger... I'll be waiting...

It'd be the biggest win in program history and top 5 for school history in all-sports.

Eastern Michigan 1989 and App. State 2014 are bigger. Stony Brook 2012 is at least equal and probably bigger.

If we had to beat Gardner Webb to get into the play offs the game would hold no more or less significance. If it kept CCU out or they were truly the best team in the country than yes. But they are not so, while a big/huge game, not yet the biggest.

This win getting us into the playoffs combined with the fact they are a top 10 team is what makes it the biggest win. If you focus on only one of those areas then clearly it is not but with those reasons combined it makes it the biggest game in our programs history.

You are absolutely right about those two. I'm not sure about Ball State being better, but it is definitely equal, too.

Beating Ball State was bigger than beating App.

This would be the biggest program win simply because of what it would do for the program aka playoffs.

The only good argument you can make (and it would be a good one) is that it wouldn't be the best team we've ever beat.

Ball St, App, Eastern Michigan, SB all could be argued that they were better team.

I rank it as out biggest FCS victory ever, but beating Eastern Michigan, Ball State and Appy were bigger wins.

The result from this win, though, would be bigger than the results from the other wins.
