I know we are all a little down about the results of the Chuck South game, but it is time to turn our attention to the big one!

We will BEAT COASTAL because they think they are...

But they really are...

We are really...

I have been rah rah go Liberty for WAY too long and disappointed way too many years to support shared championship "everyone gets a trophy" mediocrity anymore. We are going to get stomped BJ. Open your eyes and take off those red tinted glasses.

Im tired to ffg...but that does not in any way mean I'm going to just say "oh well we are gonna get crushed, might as well not even have em practice this week". I know I got clowned for it in coaching football class but with my speech, I would rather my team know I believe in them from the first snap of practice til the clock reads all zeroes in the 4th quarter. If I'm the only one who believes we can win outside of the coaching staff and the athletic department, I will wear that distinction with honor and keep my red glasses on just like the red shirt I will be wearing next Saturday in support of my school

So you'd give up on them in OT?

Exactly. With that stadium, they managed to get a coach to come there that could out coach and beat us.

There's an old saying that goes like this... "Money can't buy happiness." I think we are the poster children for this. We have all the money as a program we could ever need, yet.... Still no playoffs. So answer me this oh red tinted spectacled one, how can you explain this? Who is responsible? Are we to just sit around and go "yay we came close yet again!" At some point and inward look is needed. Definition of insanity: "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"-Albert Einstein ... Welcome to Liberty Football. For the clinically insane.

Well, they beat Coastal by five points last year, and should have beaten Vanderbilt this year. We lost to them by two points with a redshirt freshman quarterback who had only thrown three previous collegiate passes. Step away from the cliff.

But it can rent it by the hour :pbjtime

BTW, if Einsteins definition is true, you could never lose or gain weight

I have not blamed Masha and, as far as I know, no one on here is.

You may be fine with Charleston Southern beating us on Senior Day, but I don't think that it is EVER acceptable for us to lose to CSU, Monmouth, GWU, or PC.

Point is we keep losing games WE SHOULD NOT LOSE. I jumped off the cliff my senior year when we beat a ranked elon team and still didn't make the playoffs BECAUSE WE LOST TO PRESBY. Since then I have been in free fall every year of shared championships and moral victories. But still no playoffs.

I don't think you can point to one single person with that one ffg. I think really it will take a bit of a paradigm shift from the top down as far as the "big three" goes. If you look at swimming and field hockey, while they are not big time sports, we didn't go for "name hires" and they are showing significant growth. I think that if we do not make a change at the top in football (which I do not think happens this offseason regardless of the result this weekend), we need to establish a solid identity on both sides of the ball, and then find the best 22 guys who fit that identity. There needs to be open competition for all 22 spots (or 44 for the two-deep) from spring ball all the way through training camp. The best players rise to the occasion, the rest...ride the pine. I have said this before, but I think we need to look at moving to a more uptempo offense utilizing the read option and a much better screen game. I can give more thoughts later along that line but I will move on...

IF there is a change, we shouldn't go the D1 or "name hire" route. we should look at a D2 or even D3 coach, or even a young assistant. I think PH suggested something like that on the basketball front (maybe football I'm not sure)...point is, if we want to see this program continue to grow, it ought to be with someone who grows along with the program, much like with the aforementioned swimming and field hockey programs
