Reyes played really well this weekend against GW, which is to be taken with a grain of salt. I think this game will be close but it should provide an exciting finish leading up to #BeatCoastal week.

This will be a close one. It's going to require our defense show up and play like they did in the 4th quarter of last weeks game. I think they can and believe they will.

We would've beaten Vanderbilt that night.

Nick Pierce reports that we have the 3rd toughest schedule in FCS. Hope that counts for something. We have to win this week to build the momentum to carry into CCU game and to keep playoff hopes alive.

Having been a Liberty fan for a long long time I have a bad feeling about this game. We've really not laid an egg this year and lost a close game against a team that we should beat. You could make a case for Richmond, but I think they were favored. In some ways this week is more important than the Coastal game. If we win this week I think we FINALLY make the playoffs. We can't afford to lose this game and then lose to the beach chickens.

I can't figure CSU out. Depends on which team shows up. The one that played Vanderbilt or the one that lost to Presbyterian @ homecoming. They looked pretty good last week. If we get caught looking ahead to Coastal, we're in trouble.

They play Georgia the following week.

This game isn't bigger than Coastal. That's ridiculous. If we beat Coastal, we are absolutely in playoffs. If we beat CSU and lose to Coastal, than there is a very good chance we get left out again. Of our two games left, beating Coastal is the only way that guarantees a playoff spot.

I disagree. I think if we win this week we're in. The body of work is much better than in years past. We don't have a "bad loss" like in years past. App continues to win which makes that win look better and better for us. Beat Chuck South and the playoff drought is over. Also, I stated in some ways this game is bigger. Given one of the two I would take a win over Coastal, but I don't think we can underestimate how important this week's game is.

You can think whatever you want, but we're still giving ourselves a chance to miss playoffs if we lose to Coastal. Our resume is better than it has been, but that doesn't necessarily mean the committee is going to care. If we beat Coastal, than all of our losses don't matter. Our resume means nothing. Beating Coastal means we win the Big South, which means we have an automatic bid to playoffs.

This game is certainly important, as with a loss, than we will need a win over Coastal. But a win against Chuck South provides no security that we'll be in playoffs.

BOTTOM LINE: Let's not leave it in the hands of the committee. You go out on the field between those white lines and take the fight to them vs having them bring it to us, and we will be ok. Biggest thing i see is we do have a weapon in Lunsford that most do not. My other theory is that as long as your leading when the clock strikes zero, you can't lose. This applies to both this week and next. Again, don't leave it up to the committee. Handle your own business.

Stamn and the Offense can't leave nothing back here in Lynchburg, if it has ever been drawn up and discussed they may want to think about using it. Whatever if any abnormal, lol plays, use them.

As far as the defense goes, its time to throw out any and all comments about being young, 11 games in and this is for the chip not a silver ring but possibly that gold one they keep talking about, the one that is not shared, all theirs, numero uno. One thing that still sticks out to me was how HCTG spoke about how much post season experience he had been recruiting,(kids playing in their HS play-offs). With that being said some of these kids should not be afraid of the supposed bright lights, as usual some will embrace it others will falter to it, that's when they pick each other up by the belt loop and say get on my back ill carry you if need be. As the saying goes, that was the reason you lifted all them weights in the offseason.

Any and all types of blitzes and pressures to keep the teams off balance. DCRW cant hold nothing back and expect nothing but some str8 fortitude and gut check from this group of young men.
