Liberty got mention today (one word) on the Fox Sports JT The Brick and Tomm Looney call in show. At the 25.50 mark. Surprised they picked an FCS school out ,with all the FBS schools that can't afford pay players like Texas wants to.

And they used us in the wrong context. We are actually one of the few non-P5 schools who might be able to pay players to some extent.

Right, as I was listening I was thinking we might be able to follow Texas. Then he mentions us as a smaller school who might not be able. Still nice to be thought of on a national talk show talking about the FBS's future.

Liberty and coastal plan to pay like the p5 schools. Coastal has internal fbs aspirations not wanting to get left when liberty leaves.

Speaking of sun belt, fans claiming us beating app hurt our invite chances because it took overtime to beat a bad app team... lol some people

Is it just me or do their excuses make less and less sense with each one?

Until we get into the playoffs at the fcs level. We are not going to get any respect. No doubt in my mind we could beat half the sunbelt teams this year with less scholarships. In fact I would say our first 35 to 40 players on the roster would match up quite nicely with any of the SB schools especially at the skill positions.

I watched the ARK ST - ULL game last week. I can see why ARK ST would like to steal our coach.

While FBS, would that be a lateral move in most ways?

Arkansas State has proven to be a great place for coaches to make the leap to the big time over the course the past decade.

Their coach made some crazy calls the other night. The ESPN announcers couldn't figure out what he was thinking.

NEW ORLEANS - The Sun Belt Conference today announced its findings from a thorough review of the October 21 football game between UL Lafayette and Arkansas State. Both football teams, along with five student-athletes, one assistant coach and one member of the football team support personnel, have been reprimanded for unsportsmanlike conduct. Additionally, the officiating crew from the game will be suspended for an upcoming game.

"Numerous incidents occurred during last week's game that required me to conduct an extensive and detailed review," said Sun Belt Commissioner Karl Benson. "Everyone associated with the Sun Belt Conference, including student-athletes, coaches, officials and administrators, is expected to act with a level of conduct and decorum that includes integrity, fair play and respect for others. In my review, I found that multiple individuals associated with this game did not meet these expectations of fair play and sportsmanship."

In total eight unsportsmanlike penalties were called during the game and two players were ejected for their unsportsmanlike conduct.
