This team is good enough to win the conference.
This team is bad enough to lose two games in conference.
Loved the option but on 2nd and 2 in double overtime with the defense tired you have to go forward and not side to side.

Great effort by the guys.

I guess this is just who we are. That doesn't feel good but year after year we fall short.

Queue sly and BJ with their kool aid slurping rhetoric.

Petey was on another level entirely tonight. I would have to see how many times the entire rest of the group was even targeted...gut wrenching loss after the way we rallied to tie the game

It bears repeating:

Peterson has emerged--a man among boys.

Josh Woodrum tweeted earlier that Kings do King things. Outstanding showing by him tonight. Crown him.

I hope they both keep plugging.

He did all he could but "kings" find ways to win. I love his gutsy performance but there shouldn't be any kind of crowning going in after a loss.

That one cut deep.
Can't complain about the guys giving it away or anything though, they fought hard. But it'd be nice to come out on the other end of one of these some day. Today would've been a perfect day for it.

Frankly, I'd be willing to bet he would agree with you. I think that's the kind of competitor he is, result oriented. But, as a fan, I still stand by my statement. I don't think anyone would debate that he was the better quarterback.

The talent is there.

I have to admit that I the loss doesn't sting as much as I thought it would. I think most of us were so ecstatic over the 60-yarder that we sort of expected the eventual result based on past experiences. Really proud of the way we gutted this one out and for the defense that managed to give us a chance to win even though they were exhausted and severely short-manned.

Much love to Lunsford. Dude was incredible tonight. That record-setter helped ease someof the pain of his blocked kick at last year's homecoming. Wish it would have all been in a winning effort.

Let me add that it was killing me not to be there especially since I was paying for a cottage for four nights I couldn't use. But from the television coverage, it appeared that the crowd did a great job of staying for 4+QF. Have over 20k in the house looked incredible on television. I can only imagine what the place must have been like as the final seconds ticked off regulation.

This. The coaching was better tonight but still questionable at times; good coaching strengthens the fundamentals and enhances the details necessary to win close games. The offense played much, much better (but why quit running Abnar?). The defense did not have a good showing and got exposed by short passes again. Special teams had some huge plays but also some poor moments (touching the ball out on the 1 yard line?????).

Defense can never get a stop when you need one. Welcome to liberty football. This is just what we do but ive become numb to it now. I just expect bad things to happen.

Watched it live then just watched some on the DVR.... He's good but not great(Peterson).. He's ok but the guy drops balls like Oprah's giving away cars on the side lines..... Is half our receiving squad A.D.D?? They dropped balls everywhere ... Woodrum and Lunsford our the clear heros here!! Does Gill get the Boot?? Did we ask our X Girlfriend Rocco if he wants his job back?? We should...he's the real deal.......

We lost. BUT we went down fighting. The coaching staff did way better...the offense had a pulse...the undermanned defense kept us in it.

And the fair catch, pass over the middle, and 60 yard fg at the end of regulation...that was an epic video game type ending that sent us to overtime.

As far as the previous comment...I do not think we were outcoached. I'd say it was about even. Their players made one more play.

Great effort though...never gave up. One of the most exciting games I've seen in person. Over 20,000 people. I'd say about 3/4 were stayed the whole game.

Bottom line to me is I have to give credit where credit is due to the Richmond OC. They def were taking what the D gave us. That is the short quick game, we never adjusted to that and they hit us with that all night then mixed in the RB #4 who gashed us up the middle. I think the runs may not be there as much with all of the Goon Squad available to play. Looked to me sometimes we got to the play only to wait for the OL to put hands on us and knock us out the play for the rb, but when we got him as far as lateral before his shoulders were square, we did ok. He still lit us up for over a 100 tho.

The DB's for as much as I defend them have to do a little better in squeezing the play, we give up the quick outs all day for breakfast because we play so far off. I will also say that 14 KS looked good back in the nickel spot so there wasnt a drop when 21 went out. On the Outsides tho, its a little shaky imho. KS was not getting head turned around and his 2 15yd penalties hurt early on. #6 TH started in front of #23 JG so that seems to be a revolving door, but in any case both are not doing a good job of keeping inside leverage and are getting beat back across there face, and its costing us or getting turned around, that has to change, or teams will continue to kill us.

The Dline did an avg job, there really wasnt a chance to get too much pressure, because he was hitting us with the quick game, and I dont know what the rotation is, but they do at times seem to be getting gassed from trying to get after qb. But another problem is we are getting blown off the ball in run downs, and they are able to keep drives alive.

FWIW, we have to find the PRIDE button on 3rd downs when it is time to get off the field, those are the most important downs, because it determines ususally drive continuation or drive stoppers.

We lost. Again. In a game that mattered. And really, that's all that matters. There were some great individual performances though.

The fact that we didn't cave speaks well of HCTG. I want to say that he needs to make some coaching changes if things don't change but not sure whom. My first thought is the WR coach. What's with the drops? It all starts with those.
On the other we lost a big game which speaks of typical Liberty.

That is a good question PH. I was watching last night and really there are a couple places I would look to reevaluate...defensive back and wide receiver to start

At the end of the day we still lost but the you have to give credit to Lunsford. The ending of regulation was insane.
Someone mentioned not being able to get a stop on D. It seemed all night they kept getting 3rd down completions. We stopped them once early in the game but had a pass interference and another 3rd down their WR was wide open.
We need some serious help on special teams. The play late in the game where we hit the ball and got it at the 1 was terrible.
Anyone see the replay of the fumble that wasn't called a humble?
