Another BIG game, another loss

Can't remember the last time we won a truly big game. SUCKS, being a LU football fan is not for the faint of heart. We really are not a very good football team. We do a lot of things very well, just not on the field.

Just wait until next week.......

P.S. This wasn't a big game. Let me know after UNI, Youngstown, SDSU, NDSU, Southern Illinois, and Illinois State get finished with the Sycamores.

That is one reason it was a big game. Now, the only way to get into the playoffs is to beat Coastal at Coastal. Since that will probably be a REALLY BIG game, we will certainly lose.

How is that a big game? It is exactly what I have been saying. Little to gain by winning and everything to lose by falling short (or getting blown out). Even if we win today, it doesn't help getting at large.

Losses like this expose us for what we are.....an above average Big South team with a few athletes and a poor coaching staff.

We also have to beat CSU before then as well.

Don't forget this was a Indiana State team that just beat a MAC team the previous week. #12 ranked Bethune Cookman just had to rally in the 4th quarter to be Div 2, 2 year old program (Florida Tech)-final score 33-34. Anything can happen. Also, i'm not sure where we are thinking Coastal is going to blow us out. When was the last time that Coastal "destroyed" us?

1. Ball State is really, really bad.
2. Bethune Cookman is overrated, just like the rest of the MEAC (including Norfok State).
3. Coastal is blowing us out if we play like we have been playing (specifically against UNC, Norfolk State, and ISU).

I think I figured it out: We are South Carolina Jr. We've patterned our entire football experience after SC and, like SC, don't win big games.

A Ball State team that went to a bowl last year and destroyed UVA up in C-Ville. It's tough to judge them this year as it is tough to judge Indiana State; wait till the end of year.

Don't forget we have to constantly remind others how great we are. If bragging on ourselves won games then we would've been national champion 3x in a row instead of nd state.

Last season only gives you the baseline until that team starts playing good teams. Trust me, Ball State is bad and the MVFC is going to roll Indiana State.

I give ISU credit for beating us. But that team we played today is probably only going to win 2 more games this season.

P.S. UVA football

UVA will win more games this year than we will.

I said this on the other thread, but we needed to make a statement from the word go today. instead of a run on our first play, I think a home run play (like a pass up the seam) would have been a better choice...put them on their heels, take their crowd out of it too...

As for UVa...I think they barely make bowl eligible and I dont think we end up at 5 wins

Beej, if we weren't running a screen, our other default is to chuck the pigskin to the end zone every play. It'll work against Brevard and Bryant. It won't against real competition.

It doesnt have to go to the end zone (the pass). I mentioned the Clemson touchdown elsewhere...the pass went I think 10 yards, receiver catches it in stride and 70 some yards later he is in the end zone...statement made.
