A few observations:
  • - They have five FBS transfers and they are key playmakers for the Sycamores
    - They also have 14 JUCO transfers who have given the team a shot of experience and strength
    - Offensively they have been extremely impressive led by the QB Perish. They will be a major test for our secondary.
    - Their LB Underwood is a beast. Enough said.
    - That lone loss at Indiana loks better today after the Hoosiers went into Missouri on Saturday and knocked off the Tigers

I thought the exact same thing last night as I was leaving the stadium. People on campus are already getting hyped for Richmond, myself included. The games before or after a big match-up always scare me especially when it's against an underwhelming opponent.

You people are priceless. Yes, this will be a tough game, but we have the weapons to make it happen. Historical Liberty not able to's are being broken 1 by one and there is more to come. Looks like we may have to be run heavy and open up the pass. Our passing offenses are comparable. I am not ready to predict a score just yet, but I see a upper 30s low 40s shootout. We have a good shot to come away with the W.

While all of this is true, until those historical things are actually broken, many of us will still be skeptical. I think we can win and hope we do, but a loss will not surprise me.

As far as the offense is concerned, we have got to protect the ball this game. They have been excellent so far: zero turnovers in three games (two against FBS teams). On the other hand, we have lost six through four games.

I am more concerned about the defense than the offense at this point. Tackling and assignment discipline will have to be much, much better than it has been the last two weeks. If the pass defense plays like it did against UNC, we should not have major problems in the secondary.

They are going to be overconfident, so we have to start fast like we did against Bryant. If we do that, in addition to fixing the problems that have emerged on the defense, we should be fine.

You do know bluejacket that all 6 were in one game right?
I would not say that the Patriot is a power conference.

Yeah, so what? We have protected the ball better against far inferior competition, but that one game should be a constant reminder for the team.

While we do have 6 in four games, all 6 were in the opener. We have done a much better job holding onto the ball the last 3 games. While I do agree that we need to take care of the football, its not as dire an issue as you make it sound

Six turnovers are six turnovers, no matter how you slice it. Zero turnovers are zero turnovers, no matter how you slice it. The most concerning part is that four of them came off of fumbles when we clearly had the ball; they just ripped the ball away from our ball carriers. Not to mention, we have been getting increasingly careless with the football in the last three games. Woodrum trips over the center's feet at least once a game, sloppy ball handling by the carriers and receivers, and we're not consistently catching the ball cleanly on special teams. Flirt with disaster enough and it will come looking for you.

If we have zero turnovers on Sat., we will definitely win (probably by 10+). Indiana State has forced seven turnovers this season. They have shown to be ball hawks and have to be respected for that ability.

This is only a trap game based on the fact that they were so bad last year. They obviously have gotten better fast with an influx of JUCOs and FBS transfers.

Just ask "Richardson"...
I see your Richardson and come back with Jennings, Pinigis, Ausberry, Redd, Lloyd, Dickerson, and Hicks.

It goes both ways. Some are busts. Some are great.

I would have referenced Aikens. But we get your point. FBS transfers are just as big of a gamble as kids plucked out of high schools. But there is no question that the FBS & JUCO transfers are delivering thus far for the Sycamores.
