LFSN team coverage

Saw where the BSOUTH proudly announced
10 (I"m sorry, 8 ) games or so on ESPN3.
hoping to hear soon confirmation on our TV games- at this point I really expect nothing less than ALL games televised in HD and distributed nationally. I prefer ESPN3 to MASN since , well, apparently DISH won't let me watch MASN up here without the sports pack. And I'm cheap.
its not enough anymore just to have a couple games on regional channels... I'm not sure how this deal with Sinclair or whoever they are will work but man I hope it doesnt screw up the agreement we have with ESPN3.

JB made it clear in the interview with bearlyDoug that ESPN3 will be a bigger part of our broadcast than it was last year. Im assuming all games will be at least on ESPN3

on a completely unrelated note, I've found this completely hysterical- media photos for the LFSN tv and radio crews.
(thank you @LibertyradioPxP for the photos)
take a guess as to who is ON camera and who is NOT

I get your point PA, but I think you will have to agree that Tilly would fit in quite well with the radio crew.

Pamedic... Long time no time! I can tell you that they are pushing for Nick to do more TV and just made a nice commitment to him which was certainly overdue. I give all the credit to Kevin Keys who is the smartest one in that room when he is allowed to be in that room. I think we have known for a long time that Nick was and is the best broadcaster on campus and Liberty realizes just how fortunate they are to have him. That's no slight to Alan and Mike who are certainly good broadcasters.
Anyway, here's to another football season filled with jelly doughnuts and cupcakes on the schedule.
They should go ahead and budget a statue of Turner Gill outside the stadium if we make the playoffs.
I'll be at the UNC game, so feel free to come on down (cheap flights to RDU). I'll even provide a Six pack of Yuengling that you can drink while tailgating in the UNC hospital parking garage

The tailgating atmosphere is slightly more exciting than watching a middle school girls basketball game.

An actual GMTM sighting? Let's all brace ourselves for a moment.

Nick is somebody who you have to think is gonna get a call from one of the four major sports conglomerates (ESPN, NBC, FSN or CBS) at some point GMTM. The guy is just awesome at what he does. I heard his call of the home run barrage against Duke and I wonder how much longer he is on the mountain

Two of the biggest understatement ever posted on this board right here. Both are way more valuable than most at Liberty realize.

There have been times my dad thought I was listening to the Orioles when I was listening to an LU baseball game. Nick is one of the best commentators I've ever heard, outside of a few guys who have been doing it A LOT longer.

GMTM is trying to hype Nick, so Nick will move on and Liberty will GHTM.

R.i. I still do some national radio but there is no way I'm getting out of my main sales job (too much $$$) to come back to Liberty. Plus my wife can't stand Lynchburg and on top of that not everyone likes me on the mountain
I can't rail on the current leadership in the athletic department that is at Liberty too much because I don't want it to effect Nick. Put it this way. Nick's name is getting out there and several of top the broadcasters have had great things to say and that's about as far as I will go. I predict Nick will be national within the next 5 years. The smartest move I made when I was in school was to let him do baseball right away and get out of his way.

Im really not surprised to see his name getting in major circles. I really think it'll be less than five years as car as Nick going national though.

I think Nick is a very good radio announcer, especially doing baseball. Is he trying to get to the major leagues?

Pete van Wieren passed over the weekend, he was with the Atlanta Braves broadcasts for many years. I think he would be a great fit there already being in the system

As great as Nick is on radio, I realized this year he's even better on TV for baseball. The dude can call a game as good as anyone. I know he loves being at Liberty, but his first love is baseball and if he got the shot at calling baseball full time at a high level, I can't see him turning that down.

I think if Fox or ESPN put an offer in front of him for baseball (college or pro, but especially pro), he is on the first flight to their HQ to sign on the dotted line

That is not how it works, BJ. You are contracted on a game-by-game basis even at the national level. I know a bunch of guys who do the ply0by-play for ESPN & the other various networks. Actually I still am under contract with Fox myself although I rarely do any work for them these days.
Nick has improved significantly in the past couple of years. If that is the career path he chooses to take, I fully expect him to be successful. But there are challenges to that lifestyle. My fellow LU classmate Brian Barnhardt could explain better than me. But it can be a kick in the pants.

Brian was my roommate back in 83-84. Great guy with a voice made for broadcasting.

And if my friends in the business are correct, he is one of the hardest working guys in the game. It is tough to find anyone who has even the slightest hint fo a bad thing to say about Brian.
