Has Liberty considered going to a Great West team? It has been talked to join the two leagues to get an auto bid. It might be good to play a game against a GWFC team. I know that NDSU is looking for several games. Would the Flames be interested in a game. From the projected schedule, I see that Sept. 9th is open.

Here is NDSU's schedule so far:

Aug. 31 Concordia-St. Paul (MN)
Sept. 9 OPEN
Sept. 16 Northeastern
Sept. 23 @ Ball State
Sept. 30 @ Stephen F. Austin
Oct. 7 OPEN
Oct. 14 OPEN
Oct. 21 OPEN
Oct. 28 @ Southern Utah
Nov. 4 @ UC Davis
Nov. 11 Cal Poly
Nov. 18 South Dakota State

Thanks for dropping by and registering. You bring up an interesting possibility. I get the impression we may close to having our schedule locked up. But it certainly would be cool cross-country matchup.

Well a trip to Fargo would certainly be interesting ... North Dakota State would be a real tough opponent for the Flames, though, and I'm not sure Rocco wants to add another difficult non-league game, thus the talk of Howard, Georgetown and such. You never know, though.

I'm guessing you have made that roadie from your NAU days.

I agree that it would be unlikely we'd want to travel for a tough opponent at the same time we are trying to get out of a game with Rutgers.

Actually, never went there. In fact, I did mostly basketball and only traveled to New Mexico and (then) Southwest Texas State for football. Stayed in Austin for that trip. Nice town that is. Wow, that was a great trip.

An old roommate of mine was a wrestler involved with Arizona-USA Wrestling and went to Fargo every year for a camp and had some interesting stories about that place. I know NDSU wanted in the Big Sky, which would have made for some crazy travel in an already far-flung league. NDSU/SDSU would both fit well in the Mid-Con.

Now you are talking my language. SWT (now Texas St) was one of my regular haunts for a long time. I loved covering that school. And Austin is awesome. But try telling that anybody east of the Appalachians.

i would rather stay east and play a patriot team like gtown, but going out west would not be a bad deal either.

For completely selfish reasons, I think we need to travel to Texas. :D

Get over your East Coast fixation, smoothie.

no fixation at all sly you loser! :D if we are going west i would rather play texas st. or montana, someone with a good I-AA reputation unlike the great west, big west or whatever that league is.

I'm w/ SMOOTHIE on the East coast preferences. Plenty of schools here giving us an opportunity for decent OOC competition w/ out traveling more than 200 miles.
