I hope it's this year but if it's not, I think a road win at App St would be HUGE for both our postseason resume(unless their record is as bad as it was last year) and our hopes of an invite from the Sun Belt.

Wow, you do need some sunshine. Now I get why the suicide rates are so high in the Rust Belt. Give hope a try.

I'm with Shortie. Not going to get my hopes up. We've done this song and dance before. And I'm also pessimistic about our chances against App. They redshirted a whole lot of FBS caliber players last year, which is part of the reason they didn't do so well. They will be a completely different team this year. I hope i'm wrong on both counts but I'll be pleasantly surprised if we win the conference auto bid this year.

I just don't see the Sun Belt with much of a vision and will be too indecisive to add anybody. They don't want us, and I don't see how that could change in a years time.

If the sunbelt board is any indication of the type of people from SBC schools the odds are against us. They lack vision like you said and seem to like shiny objects like JMU. Even if they will actually be renting them before they bolt for another conference.

Another odd thing I've noticed is the SBC seems to be obsessed with moving ahead of other conferences in prestige and overall perception. But they want schools that can't outspend other schools in the conference like LU. I really don't see the logic in wanting one thing but purposely avoiding gaining it.

Because outspending other programs guarantees success, right?
