HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Scroggins finding his stride

The lack of a consistent running game and his offensive line’s inability to recognize blitzes prevented Jay Scroggins from playing his best in the first six games of James Monroe’s season.

But in last Friday’s Battlefield District contest at Chancellor, those issues were rectified.

It enabled Scroggins to have the breakout game he’s been seeking. The junior quarterback completed 18 of 23 passes for 353 yards and four touchdowns in JM’s 42–12 victory.

I played with his dad, years back. Seen him play at my JM with my friend son, this kid will be pretty decent wherever he may land.
