When was the last time we had a kid from Arizona suit up for us? (That is if he signs)

Coach Stamn has been offering kids the past couple of years out in the desert.

Is that 230 with a wet sweater and parka on?

Looking at him, he is not built like 230 (so skepticism is warranted PH as to his weight). ALso, he is a "9-technique" who is very much a speed rusher at defensive end. Chima, who had a breakout year last year, is 240. He looks like he would be a solid pickup who certainly could make an impact right away at offside end.

Thanks for giving me permission to be skeptical. Or at least validating my skepticism

Your sarcasm is duly noted...as I said, looking at his defensive film, he is more of a speed rusher due to his size so he would be a good complement to Chima

Thank you again for your validation

Can see him being moved to LB

I was thinking that as I was posting earlier...good catch PH. With his speed he certainly could be a good Will if they take him that route

Cool, a kid from my part of the country. I almost pastored a church in Chandler. He looks like an interesting find. Does he have any other offers, schools interested?

He is also a QB, punter and play basketball. I wouldn't be surprised to see him recruited as a TE.

According to the roster on the athletic site, we have three TEs returning for 2014 (Dexter Herman, Garrett Long and Canon Smith) so my guess is he stays at DE when he comes in. He certainly has a good bit of athleticism for the position.

I can see that. He must have good hands to be a QB and play basketball.

A week ago he was on campus in Lynchburg and he spent time after he returned talking about what a tough decision he faced based on the visit. Now at the last moment, Arizona State is getting involved and met with him today.

It sounds like he may be headed to Arizona State as a preferred walk-on. In light of the Caso commitment, I believe we are likely out of the picture.
