fast forward to 1:05:18 in the podcast. Its a story about David Jeremiah being recruited to LU as told by Daniel Jeremiah of NFLN. A fun PR move would be to get him the autograph decades later.

ok, due to obnoxious podcast technology, I have written it out for you. For those of you who don't know Dave Damesheck is just some psuedo-comedian/personality that the NFL pays to talk and write about football. Daniel Jeremiah is a former App St QB who has been a scout for the eagles, browns and ravens and now works for NFL media. He is also brother of LU's former QB of a few decades ago and I believe the brother-in-law of LU's very own Josh Cox. Any how:

Daniel Jeremiah: Let me tell you my quick recruiting story before I leave. My brother was a quarter back as well and he ended up going to Liberty. Turned down some Ivy League schools to go to Liberty, which is an interesting discussion. So the head coach at the time at Liberty was Sam Rutigliano and his son Paul was the recruiting coordinator. I'm younger than my brother, 9 years, no 7 years younger than my brother. I grew up a huge cowboys fan. So he comes in for a home visit to recruit my brother and he asks me "who's your favorite football team?", Oh the Dallas Cowboys, "Who's your favorite player?" Oh I love Herschel Walker. And he leans forward in his chair and says "I tell you what. I know Herschel Walker and I'm gonna get you an autograph picture and have it sent here to your house". And I'm the little brother so as my brother is trying to figure out, am I going to Princeton, Dartmouth, Liberty, I'm going: "Liberty, you gotta go to Liberty. This is the best. You gotta go to Liberty." .... Still waiting on that Herschel Walker picture...

Dave Dameshek: And that's why he went there too! Your older brother did it as a favor to you and you still haven't gotten the, uh, Herschel thing.

JJ: Never got it. Never showed up.

DD: Think about that. How football history might have been changed. Unbelievable.

Adam Rank: He could have had an Ivy League education.

JJ: His Tight End at Liberty at that time was Eric Green. Thought you would appreciate that.

Worked fine on my iPad. Scrubbed to that part of the podcast. I used to listen to Dameshek back when he was part of the Adam Carolla radio show years ago.

Interesting story. Very funny!
