If Coastal looses to Charleston Southern and We beat Charleston Southern. Can we get the Bid? How does the tie breaker work this year?

The tiebreaker has not changed from a couple years ago when after head to head it went to best road record in conference. So, if LU, CSU, & CCU all finish 4-1, CSU would be 3-0 on the road, while LU & CCU would be 2-0.

Of course the conference is too smart to think ahead and realize with Stony Brook gone, there is no longer a balanced schedule.

How sweet would that be if CSU was our Conference representative? I wonder if CCU would be an At Large Birth? It would serve our conference right. I'm sorta cheering for that scenario now :flamingdevil

1. Liberty doesn't make it.
2. LU doesn't make it.
3. The Flames are out of it.

I think that sums it up.

Pretty much the ONLY way that LU makes it is if CCU loses to CSU AND Presbyterian and then LU wins out (including beating CSU obviously)

here is what i think happens. CCU wins out and LU wins out CCU #1 & LU #2 in conference. since the SOCON is down and usually puts 2 teams in each year they will be a 1 bid conference and the BSC will send 2 just like last year. CCU & LU.

I like daydreams. They are just dangerous when I'm driving. :D

So most feel we don't have a shot even though the playoffs have expanded to 24 teams.

Based on what on field evidence?

Per LANG in the Gardner-Webb Sunday Wrap:
Let’s talk tiebreakers, because there’s only one scenario that can possibly work out in Liberty’s favor in the Big South, and that’s if LU, Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern all finish 4-1. Notice I said “possible.” For that to unfold, CSU needs to beat Coastal at home, Liberty needs to beat CSU at CSU, and CSU needs to beat Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb on the road.
(I’m assuming Liberty wins at home against VMI and PC; along with a Coastal home win over PC.)

The first tiebreaker still road wins in conference, but therein lies the problem. Liberty would be 2-0 on the road in that scenario and CSU would be 3-0. You can’t just give it to CSU because the Big South scheduled more road games for the Bucs. I asked the Big South office what the tiebreaker would be, and I was told it was still being discussed. If Coastal beats CSU in Charleston on Nov. 9, the whole point is moot. Liberty needs CSU to remain unbeaten in league until the Nov. 23 finale to even be in the discussion. So it’s a major, major longshot at this point.

So you're saying there's a chance! :pbjtime

Right now our bad loss has been to Richmond. We have 2 FBS losses and a top 5 loss. We win out, 8-4 with a field of 24, and FCS IS counting D2 wins (yes I know that sucks, but it counts) I see us having an at-large shot IF we blowout every BSC team. And put an embarrassing hurting on CSU on the 23rd. Now way they lose to CCU. Chances of us making an at-large with 2 D2 wins and an 8-4 record, terribly unlikely, but that's the only way I see us making it.

Stop dreaming of at-large bids. It's not going to happen. LU would be 6-4 vs. DI with the only "good" win coming at CSU in the finale. Too many good teams in the MVFC, Big Sky and CAA with better resumes.

Its like I said, the ONLY way Liberty makes the playoffs is if CCU loses its last two conference games AND Liberty wins out, including beating CSU in the finale. If by some crazy turn of events Liberty makes the playoffs as an at large, I'd wear a dunce cap for a day

+1. I don't think I could take another year of this.

I don't think you'll have to. I don't think CSU is beating Coastal, for one, and I'd be surprised if they made it through the trips to PC and GWU unscathed anyway.

If we won out and squeaked in, we could be someones worst nightmare in the playoffs. This is a good team getting better.
