So... we're in HD this year, it's just that nobody can actually watch it.
LFSN was a brilliant idea...

This is so stupid. CSU is taking out app st and we're wasting our time with these guys in which we can literally score at will.

I'm glad our guys can stay healthy for the ODU game because of this cake game, I just hope it doesn't mess their minds up to where they won't be ready for the game next week. ODU will be coming Hard. And it's their homecoming. I'm glad I got my tickets yesterday.

I agree as well but I think the only way we get anyone meaningful coming here is if we work something out like we have with Richmond where the football game is tied with other sports

Will the Liberty channel show the halftime show? We stayed home for this game.

But remember CSU probably had their games scheduled as a guarantee variety.

Or we actually go on the road and play less than seven home games in a 12-game year.

We will have one next year but thankfully the second FBS game will take the place of the second D2.

But I don't know if the FBS games help us...sure, it's better than d2...but when we play FBS games and lose by ten...we're content...but in reality we may not have gotten the other team's best shot.
LU struggles in close games...I'd like us to see more 1aa out of conference games...CAA, Socon, the higher end of the MEAC & Patriot...this would help us more for conference play.
Elon, Hampton, Lehigh, Lafayette, Furman, Western Carolina, Townson, Youngstown State, etc.
Just my opinion.

My thing is is that if we want to be one of the big boys we need to play the big boys. I don't see what benefit there is to competing with out of conference at this level, so we make the playoffs? Whoopty doo, we may make a small headline on espn.com or si.com for an hour. We beat a UNC, VA Tech, (enter FBS school here) we are all over the place. Just look at ND State, won back to back national titles, hardly anyone in national media pays attention. They beat K State, they are everywhere and Gameday comes to their town. Same reaction with App State years ago. FCS does nothing to get us exposure, competing and beating teams at the next level, that is where we need to be focusing. Just my two cents.

App State won´t play us. They´d rather lose to CSU and NC A&T.
Of course we all know they scheduled those games as easy wins. Things are pretty bad in Boone right now, but I´ve gotta think it´s temporary. I sure wish we could be one of the teams taking advantage though.

Ive said this before and it bears repeating I think. The reason teams wont play us, especially in Lynchburg is threefold:
1) The airport (most of your teams west of say Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Alabama and Mississippi are going to have to fly in)
and the more likely two reasons
2) Jerry Falwell (Most schools still have coaches and/or administrators who still have less than happy sentiments about the man even though he has been dead for 6+ years)
3) It isnt worth it to them. Liberty isnt the "easy win" that it was in the Karcher years, but at the same time, it still would not be considered a "good win" that it would be with other schools but it would always be a "bad loss" because of the act that voters and college football observers would see it as (insert top level FCS school here) LOSING the game, as opposed to Liberty winning the game
Jon did raise a good point in that we may just have to swallow it and go with a balanced schedule in 12 game years (6 home 6 away) in order to get a series with a team like a Central Arkansas, Wofford, Youngstown State, etc. We get Montana here in I think 2015 but that more proves the exception and not the rule.

Does this argument hold true with teams like W&M, Western Carolina, Towson, Deleware?
You can't tell me that all FCS teams feel this way. In my opinion, almost any FCS school is better than playing a D2. I couldn't stay for the whole thing yesterday, it just got boring. I don't even mind having one D2 on the schedule, but the worst part about yesterday is the realization that the same will happen when we play Brevard.
