1. I hope we beat the Spiders and give Rocco the chance to regret leaving us... (Even though I still appreciate the guy)
2. This game looks like it'll be a good measuring stick for how good GW is after handing UR a loss last Saturday.
3. Can't wait to be sitting in the stands wearing red this weekend! :football :football :football

One thing you notice going back over the three games Richmond played, you notice that their rushing numbers have gone the reverse of Liberty's.

vs. VMI 226 net rushing yards 313 passing yards (265 by Strauss)
vs. NC State 22 net rushing yards 300 passing yards (300 by Strauss)
vs. Gardner-Webb 10 net rushing yards 328 passing yards (305 by Strauss)

What that tells me is that the key here lies in forcing them to run the ball. If we can get good pressure from the front 7 on Strauss and force them to give the ball to Green, we have a chance to get the win.

Apon down the seam.

Do it 20 times.

I was as well...great minds think alike I guess.

I lost count of how many times, watching the game on Saturday, I thought we would had a seam route or a seam with two go routes wide open down the middle of the field if we called it.

I have believed that Gill has held back some things in these past 2 games in favor of using them at UR. Chief of those will be Apon. We shall see. I'm also interested to see if we will use any of those trick plays we used vs Monmouth.

Does anyone know if Rocco is still using the 3-4 Defense at Richmond?

They play with 4 down lineman. He kept the D-coordinator that was already there.

Audio of Danny Rocco on today's CAA media conference call, he answered a few questions from Duke - http://www.libertyflamesnation.com/caa- ... nny-rocco/

Wow just listening to that audio is depressing. I am so glad this game was on the schedule prior to him leaving. I want us to win this game more than any single game in my history as a Liberty Fan. Was Danny forced out?

Oh and great work by Duke and Manson, way to hang in there Duke and ask a few questions that were backhanded. He knew what you were suggesting right off the bat.

It would change my perception of the entire situation if he was asked to leave.

I don't know if he was forced out or not, but it doesn't change a thing for me. It was time for him to go. He put his cards on the table and let a felon play to get a playoff birth and an FBS offer. He didn't get either and in the process made JB and JFjr look foolish for trusting him.

I realize this may not be the popular stance on here because so many people respect him, but that is just how the situation looked to me from the outside looking in.

This opinion still doesn't change the fact that I respect the heck out of the guy and everything he did to help get this program where it is today. It was just time for him to move on. How that happened really doesn't matter to me, nor does it change how I feel about the situation.

This is actually pretty close to where I fall on things.

AMEN AND AMEN! OUR TE'S ARE UNDERUTILIZED.
The great QBs usually have a great Tonto to go to to open up the game.

All is quiet on the UR board. Nary a mention of their upcoming game this Saturday. Eerily quiet in my opinion...
Keeping an eye out for Ben Edwards' status...9 stitches and concussion from a hit he took after losing his helmet vs NC State.
Any word on AA's return?

I just had a chance to hear the audio, Rocco sounds a little down. He did a GREAT job with the football program here and kept us ranked much of the time. I remember how bad the program was before he came and hope he does well in Richmond. He will probably pull out the stops and do everything possible to win this game, if Liberty wins he will look very bad. Now back to Football: Go LU, BEAT the Spiders !

+1, thus, I appreciate all he did, but am glad he is gone.

Gill stated that AA is "doubtful" for the game, but they will know more in a couple of days.

Hey guys! I am back after a long absence from my computer. I am looking forward to this game and finally being able to see a quality Liberty matchup. I think the ground game is going to be key. Whoever best establishes the run and controls the trenches will win. GEAUX FLAMES!
