Not sure if they have one or not, but I notice a lot of schools do. What would it be like to have the fans get to greet the players as they walk towards the FOC sort of like Penn State or something where they can cheer the guys as they get ready for that days contest. Thoughts?

Anything is possible but the bus from the motel pretty much drops them off at the door. i would roll down there and yell if they would do it.

We're also different in that student have to get in the stadium over 60 minutes early if they want to get a good seat.

and..... I'm pretty sure there's not a bad seat in the stadium... from my limited experience.

Traditions are great. Some can be forced and die out or eventually catch on. The administration has to buy into traditions as well. At Louisville they had the Card March. Players walked through a tunnel in the parking lot and the fans cheered them into the stadium before games. That is being changed up by the admin. Some great traditions start off small and then grow. Folks just kind of start them.

I think it would be cool for students and fans to line up right outside the gates on the right side of FOC and then let team walk thru those gates into bldg to get dressed and things. Just another way to get some fan interaction and support going before the game gets going. I definitely think the players would love being in that atmosphere

Id have the buses pull out to the right (they are still using Extended Stay right?) then go through Candlers Station, past the church, back down University Blvd, right onto Evans Blvd, and then walk out of the bus, across the street and up to the FOC, in between two lines of rabid Flames fans and students.

Most places are GA, but they have limited amounts of seating/tickets. We don't make our students get tickets throughout the week. Ours is first come first serve for the entire student body.

All you have to do is not open the stadium gates until after the team gets off the bus. :) Then let the mad rush for seats begin.

It would take some logistical planning Im sure. Both entrances for the student side are on University Blvd (opposite end of the stadium) and the only other place they could come in would be that one entrance over at the FOC on the (I think) south end of the stadium. If they did a walk Id have it around 3-4 hours prior to game time which would give the players time to get off the bus (parked on Evans Blvd by the Ice Center), cross the street then walk to the FOC through the fans. that is just my thinking though

So long as you won't be sharing a cell in D Block you should be fine!

I believe they rotate hotels. Before we bought our house, we would usually stay at the Kirkley Hotel the night before the game. Our first two games (different seasons) the team was there the night before the game. We were disappointed when we made our next trip down and the team was nowhere to be found.
