This was a tough week to grade with both G-W and Chuck South getting their seasons off to great starts. We should have a better feel for both of those two this time next week. As we saw with Coach Rocco a few years back, a new coach can change the dynamic of a team fairly quickly. And both of our Baptist brethren in the Big South are seeing those type of results already.

A bit of a shakeup this week in power rankings following a couple of impressive wins from conference mates - http://www.libertyflamesnation.com/big- ... gs-week-3/

The Big South is having one of its best nonconference performances ever.

3 seems about right...at this point we still have 8 games left (including ODU in Norfolk) plus the Big South schedule and we get CCU in our house, plus Im not really buying CSU at this point even with the 4-0 record. The Citadel win has lost a lot of luster and their other wins were by 8 over a D2, a bad Campbell team (with all deference to Coach Minter since he was here last year) and Norfolk State. As you noted in your rankings, this week really will tell whether to buy or sell on the Bucs

The Big South slate is most important. We have to run the table - it's the same song-and-dance we've been playing for years now.

Zero chance we get an auto-bid, which is why the Big South Championship outright should be our highest priority. A win over ODU would be wonderful, especially because they are beating the snot out of people this season, but it isn't going to end the season if we lose.

I know you meant at-large bid. I disagree that there is 0 chance of that. The Big South had an at-large bid last season and each of the two teams selected won their first playoff game. The playoffs are expanding from 20 to 24 this year and three (ODU, Appalachian State & Georgia Southern) of last year's selections are not eligible this year due to FBS transition. There is a real possibility that three teams from the Big South could be represented in the playoffs this season. An outright Big South championship is still the goal and eliminates any possibility of leaving it up to the committee.

If 3 Teams from the BSC get into the playoffs SMOOTH will shave a picture of TG in his head.

Some scenario of CCU beating GW-GW beating LU and LU beating CCU is more likely

Call me crazy but Im actually still not 100% sold on CSU. Yeah they beat App State but they have been in all sorts of upheaval with the departure of Jerry Moore (forced or otherwise) and The Citadel really hasn't impressed me either since their game with the Bucs outside of the shootout they got in with our opponent this week. We get into conference play finally so that I think will tell me whether they can be that top tier team.
