Liberty Flames News Sources

I was wondering what are the sources to get LU news. Obviously I know about here, the official athletic site, and Flames Nation. Why doesn't LU have a rivals.com or scout.com page? Is there anywhere else to get LU news? And I am tracking them of Facebook. Thanks for any info and guidance I can get.

I am currently deployed to Afghansistan and as the season approaches I am eager to follow the team. I'm gonna really miss watching games on the internet and going to games.

First off, thanks for your service!

I can tell you that we have been courted at times over the years by the major services like Rivals, Scout & 247sports. We chose to remain independent and I suspect that we will remain so moving forward. But I also will add that big changes are coming that impact the Liberty community on multiple platforms. We're jazzed about dropping the details soon.

I echo Sly's sentiment thanking you for your service army56mike.

LU's beat writer for the News and Advance, Chris Lang, posts here regularly. Damien Sordelett, who took over while Lang was on the VT beat last year also posted from time to time. With the new LFSN launching here this year, Im sure that Sly's news plays into that and I am very much looking forward to the announcement when it can be made.

Thanks for the info. I look forward to what's coming. I also saved the News and Advance as a favorite website, so that will be one more resource. Thanks again.

Purple, some things a guy will never live down. Kind of like a certain coach with a clipboard (NOT Jeff Myer).

True but the 2 other forums I go to are on tap talk which is much more phone friendly. I am posting from my phone now so obviously it can be done. It's just now optimized for my phone. Not complaining at all. It would just be nice.

Its been a while. I have been keeping up with LU sports on FlamesNation and also twitter. Now that the season is back upon us, I look forward to spending more time at FlameFans.com . I have been on this site for 7 or 8 years now, and have found it to be the best source.

We looked at TapaTalk a year or so ago. But their constant pop-ups and annoyances to everyone to join TapaTalk kept us from pushing forward. We didn't want to annoy would be posters using it. I haven't checked on it in awhile. Perhaps some of those issues have been resolved.

Hopefully more of our old friends like R i will be coming back as we inch toward the kickoff at Kent State.

How come we can't work a deal with FS1? They seem to fit our standards in some aspects and they're looking for fresh material in the sports industry right??

It would be something through LFSN if we did...otherwise it would have to involve all the teams in the Big South
