The opening roster for fall practice is now up on the AD site. AA is still listed, and Grant Jones is back.

Notible absences include signee Zac Parker, who according to FlamesNation has been ruled ineligible.

Also not on the roster are transfer QB Cory Benedetto and DB Kirby Anderson.

Benedetto will have to sit out due to transfer rules anyway so it doesnt strike me as overly shocking that he isn't on the roster. Now if he isnt on the 2014 spring roster, then we may have something to analyze there. Hudson will have to do the same down at Campbell (they dont have their 2013 roster up though for the record)

Anderson has had issues with injuries, even going back to the latter part of his time at Amherst County HS so it may be that his recovery hasnt quite gone as it should and he may have left the program to get it worked out, or maybe he is done with football, we can only speculate at this point. Its something to look at though

Kirby had complications from shoulder surgery that forced him to redshirt last season, and he helped out with some of the video duties. Not sure if he'll be back in that role this year, or if he's retired from football.

It is indeed a disappointing development with Zac. But it is great to see his cousin Wes is on the roster.

Now is the option available for him to go to someplace like Hargrave or Fork Union and get his academic house in order? If so, what would be his next move after that since he signed his NLI?

I´m fairly sure he will be a ¨free agent¨after prepping a year, and can sign with anyone if he is qualified.

Regarding Benedetto, if he is with the program, he should appear on the roster even though he is sitting out under transfer rules.

Our prodigal scribe should be able to get us a more concrete answer as to Benedetto's status
