Possible QB option (I think I read Nick Saban say somewhere that you always try to sign a quarterback) but at his size he would make a very good running back/wildcat QB option (similar to the kid that Gardner-Webb used in our game with them last year)

Immediately following the Ervin de-commit, look where our head coach headed on LU's bye week. This says a great deal about what the staff has in mind ...

Certainly is an interesting turn in the recruiting process now that Ervin decided to go back into the water. With the discussion we have had about running a read option (or my suggestion, the Nevada Pistol), he could be a very good QB for us (although he will be competing with Masha and Shashaty behind Josh next year if he signs)

I suspect this will be a very big weekend for visits and J.T. is a big target for us. I know not only football but nearly every sport on campus is bringing in prospects hoping the homecoming atmosphere will impress the kids. Hopefully the team on the field gives everyone a reason to be festive.

On Friday, LU announced that they will be changing the dress code again: no more collared shirts for the guys!

So T-shirts will be code compliant?

JT seems to be enjoying himself based on his Twitter feed. You get the feeling we will have that QB 'ship locked up by the end of the weekend.

According to JT on Twitter, we can expect news from him "soon". He has been using the #LU hashtag since Saturday.

First in an email, but now it is even Facebook official:
Sounds like a great kid as well as a good quarterback.

He's very efficient if his TD/INT ratio is any indication, Solid pickup after losing Ervin

You never know in recruiting, but this looks to be a great committment over a few programs that are in a better place than Liberty's current state. Good size QB who can throw it and run while most importantly has a track record of winning. Let's hope folks on here recognize it and appreciate it. If you want to be a big time program, it is a pre-requisite to get worked up over recruiting and while it absolutely is normally overdone, it is indicative of where we are as a fan base that somewhat trivial topics can get multiple pages of posts while commitments from top QBs or point guards sometimes command only a few comments.

I'm thrilled to see he chose us over Troy after the way some of their fans trashed us on the Sunbelt Boards!
