Will Edwards working with Chris Weinke on footwork
Class of 2014 quarterback Will Edwards (Birmingham, AL/Briarwood Christian HS)joined the IMG Academy football program for private training sessions with Director Chris Weinke. Edwards is poised to take over as the starting quarterback for the Briarwood Christian varsity squad this fall after sitting behind a division one recruit the past two seasons. Edwards, too, has the goal of playing football at the division one level and is on a good path to achieve that goal. Edwards stands at six-foot-two weighing 205-lbs already having division one size as a quarterback prospect with two years remaining to develop his already impressive skill set.
Not bad...good touch on the deep ball and has a decent fastball that he can get in ahead of good coverage as well. I have to again mention that with the number of QBs we will have in 2014 (Woodrum, Shashaty, Benedetto, Masha and Swanson), this wont be a position of significant need in this class, but wouldnt be bad to get one for the future to push the three behind Josh and Javon)

After Josh and to a certain degree Jason we have nothing but unknowns in the position. And QBs typically are good enough athletes that they can be moved to needing positions if required.
We should be taking a QB in every class IMHO.

Looks like he will most likely stay loyal to the deep south roots.

We have a recent staff addition and former FlameFans poster with strong connections in this recruitment. I suspect we will be very involved in this process.
