A few months ago, someone posted an article about Terrell from the Washington Post, of all places and it mentioned his two-sport prowress. I say he should go for it; LU had some great success a few years back with Trey Miller doing both (as a go-to wide receiver and a starting left fielder).

Whoa, did Weinke play baseball at FSU? I thought he played in the minors, then came back and did strictly football at FSU. Henson's the only QB I know that did both.

I remember Shea Morenz doing both at UT as did Huston Street's dad, James Street. Adam Dunn was strictly a QB for the Longhorns as he spent his summers in the Reds minor league system.

Other football/baseball guys in college of some note included Auburn's Frank Thomas (who was a terrific tight end on Bo's teams of the mid 80s) and a quarterback of some significant note at Stanford named John Elway.

Wake forest had Rusty LaRue. He was QB in football, PG in basketball, and played 1 year of baseball as well. He ended up picking basketball and won a championship with the 1998 Chicago Bulls. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rusty_LaRue

We had a couple of basketball players do 2 sports too. Mark Reed from the mid 90's hoops teams also played baseball. Ben Anderson and Brian Clark were on the hoops team that beat UVA and they were both football players, Ben was the QB of course. Also Travis Johnson a couple of years back played QB and baseball for LU before transferring.

If Terrell is good enough to play Baseball he should do both. He is clearly not the QB of the future and athletes have played both before successfully.

What position does he play? Has Coach Royer even offered him a position?

I think that we need to see what he can do at the QB position in a starting role before we can say that. His quickness provides an extra dimension to the team and he can throw the ball descent but doesn't have a rifle. Not sure about him playing baseball since it could distract spring ball but others have done it and have been successful (Remember Buck Belue of Georgia many years ago and a U Tenn QB not sure of his name right now).

Based on what is on the roster right now, Zach could be the right man for QB that is unless Brock Smith deserves to be and based on what has transpired so far this year I am beginning to have my doubts. Like I said Zach addes that extra dimension. It might be a better fit for Coach Rocco's offense since he wants the offense to be more run oriented. But Prototype, I can see where you are coming from. Zach would be an excellent fit at the halfback position also based on last year's performance as a true freshmen and so far this year he is either being overshadowed by Rashaad or is being underutilized in his current roll.

What would really be great is if we got a 1A transfere to step in there. But my opinion is based on what JMU and Delaware have done with winning national championships with 1A transfere's Andy Hall and Rascotti from Louisville. Take away those 2 players and none of those teams come close to winning a national championship. Just my opinion. The QB position is just way too important to go second rate. Just too much riding on that one position since he is the leader of the offense.

Brock is also a awesome baseball player, he is a great first baseman, and a good pitcher to boot. He was one of the top players in this area.. I think Brock is not getting a fair shake as QB, I think it is a sin to keep changing like this, I am so disgusted by what is going on, If it is going to be Brock why cant we believe in him, a give him the time. He was an excellent Safety and field goal kicker, and punter in high school, I am just so upset seeing him stand on the sideline. What a waste of talent. He was first time on Safety for the state of PA. , he stopped many a touchdown. I am biased, but I am also human, and who would not be a little disgusted with what I am witnessing. AuntieAnn

While i understand your loyalties and respect your opinion i think you need to take a deep breath and a step back at the same time. Switching quarterbacks to change momentum or the flow of a game is not that uncommon is college football today, its happening in large 1-A programs as well. Brock openly admitted to struggling in that game in his quotes i read and was not making the throws he believes he can make. In that instance i dont' think you can compound his frustration and confidence by leaving him in there to keep struggling without letting him take a step back as well. Hopefully he can find a flaw in his mechanics that may be causing some of these mistakes and get that confidence back. I hope he can regain his form and be succesful at Liberty but from Coaches perspective, when you are dealing with young kids psychy sometimes they need to see the game from the sideline to get a better grasp for what they could possibly be missing in the pocket. Just my humble thoughts.
