A Sea Of Red

I see the new logo on the athletics website has a lot of grey in it. Does that mean that we'll now get in on the new craze of having a set of grey uniforms, a la, West Virginia, Oklahoma St., Seattle Seahawks, etc.?

That would not surprise me in the slightest.

It's a craze I can do without. Sorta like Pokeman

Are we really going ahead with that atrocity? I thought it was a joke when I heard about it.

I wouldnt be a fan of grey uniforms for football (I like jinxy was not a big fan of them for basketball). I wouldnt like seeing a grey helmet either. Though not a fan of the white helmets, I could live with them considering the uniform combos

a color like black or grey that is neutral and won't clash with whatever your school colors are looks good to me if the helmet matches. I think that's why the black looked so dumb to me. It looked like we just took stuff we already had and threw on a black jersey. Which is exactly what we did. But if the helmet was black, I think that would have looked ok. Same with grey. It would look fine with a grey version of the helemet. Anything else looks JV.

Here is my issue with grey or black for us. Those colors are usually used as tertiary colors. Duke uses black to go with their Blue and White. They only have 2 colors. We essentially already have 3. Red White and Blue. Where does grey or black fit in? It just doesn't make sense on any level to use.

Not that I'm questioning the legitimacy of the decisions by the higher ups because I'm not privy to all of the top secret Satre of the art intelligence and marketing graphs. These are just purely opinions of a lowly peon with limited Sport Marketing experience. Or not.

I am of the school of thinking that, you have school colors. Ours are red, white and blue. Here is a crazy thought....WEAR YOUR SCHOOL COLORS!!!!!! If you are going to wear all this other stuff, why have school colors??? Just wear some crazy new combo each week. Also, I thought the school was pushing hard for red to be the dominant color. The new alternate logo is simply grey, blue and white. I don't mind the main logo, but the alternate logo is plain terrible.

mentioned it in other thread but apparently the branding guide has been updated and ATHLETICS GRAY is now an official accent color(liberty red, liberty blue are the 2 primary)

then again, we also have 2 secondary colors of LIGHT BLUE and CHARCOAL GRAY as well.
