Grant Bowden @grantbowden17
I'm thankful to have a preexisting relationship with our new Special Teams coach! Can't say who though bc it hasn't been announced. #flames

BJWilliams wrote:He doesnt...he does have a philosophy that affects it but he isnt the special teams coach. I did notice that they didnt have one listed on the VT website thoughBecause every game the announcers state that Frank Beamer is the Special Teams coach. And flash to him every time there is a good or bad special teams play

Bookbinder Promoted to Special Teams Coordinator
November 29, 2012
Flames Head Coach Turner Gill has named Josh Bookbinder his Special Teams Coordinator.
Liberty Head Football Coach Turner Gill has announced that he has promoted Josh Bookbinder to the position of special teams coordinator...
Bookbinder joined Liberty's staff in January and has served the staff as Liberty's defensive quality control staff member.

Bookbinder comes to Liberty after spending the two seasons at Carson-Newman. In 2009, Bookbinder served as the Eagles' linebackers coach before being promoted to special teams coordinator and defensive ends assistant coach for the 2010 season. He also served assistant recruiting coordinator during his time at Carson-Newman.
While at Carson-Newman, Bookbinder had the opportunity to work under NCAA Division II Football Hall of Fame coach Ken Sparks. During Sparks' three-decade tenure at Carson-Newman, the Eagles have won five national championships, 21 South Atlantic Conference titles and produced more than 100 Division II All-Americans.
As a part of Turner Gill's coaching staff, Bookbinder will be a defensive quality control staff member, a position he is familiar with after serving in the same role at Richmond in 2009.
Bookbinder worked directly under Spiders defensive coordinator Vic Shealy in 2009 with the secondary. He helped the Spiders finish the 2009 season with an 11-2 record, a Colonial Athletic Association title and a run to the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs.
Bookbinder worked as an undergraduate coach with his alma mater during the 2007 and 2008 seasons at Baylor, working specifically with the Bears' linebackers.
