A Sea Of Red

I know I may be a little new to all this but I would like to ask, do we have RED helmets at all, the reason I ask is for the combo uni of red top, white middle and red pants, or Red top red jersey and white pants, just trying to get a head start of next year, thx.

Didn't we have solid red helmets under coach Sam? For guys who were half color blind, they looked a little like Cleveland Browns helmets.

our uniforms are great, but those helmets...they need help!

I wish they would bring back the 2006-2010 model to complement the boring, dull all white helmet. The prior helmet had character, due to the red flecks that stood out when the sun shined on it.

Ok after seeing them I change my mind I do like the blue from 2006

I to wish that they would bring back the 2006-2010 helmets!! I've been saying that since they switched to the current style.

I would like to see a red helmet with white maybe...

if only we had it like Oregon, if only just a tad bit, could you imagine all the designs we could rock, and the best ones I have seen so far this past season is the uni combo that Boston College wore, only they were UA, our LU color scheme this design, blue helmets, sheesh, nice

I liked the red pants white jersey look we wore against jmu at home a couple years ago. I really would like to see us get back to having a 2 helmet combo to rotate.

I wish we'd go back to Green and Gold!

more like 9 designs in 40 years. several of them are repeats. (id use the term throwbacks, but i dont really think it can apply when your whole program is only 40 yrs old!)

There are several other designs we used that are not included on there that we have discussed quite a bit around these parts. None have been stellar. My favorite helmets were washed down the James River after Treasure Island flooded in the Late '80s.

Sly, that was the flood of 1985, my first year at LU.

Mine as well. I remember the rain never seeming to end followed by all my clothes covered in clay from walking to classes in what we Texans would consider to be the Red River.

Honestly I think we should change the helmet logo. If someone turns to ESPN3 and knows nothing about Liberty and they see the logo, it looks like a bunch of weird squiggly lines. I like the logo but you can hardly see it on TV. The LU logo works well

Refraining from using “LU” in our messaging will help prevent additional confusion and will help to further distinguish our university.

I agree the current logo on the helmets is tough to see, but with proper scaling it could look nice. Oh and a red/blue stripe down the middle a la Presby would add a lot to the current design.
