This is pretty much our season right here. Win this one and pain and agony of this season will all be forgotten including the embarrasing losses to Coastal and Norfolk State. I am sure we will come ready to play. This team is not invinceable as evidenced by the Colgate game.

According to the local paper, even a win against SB wouldn't be enough, due to KK's tie breaker formula (conference wins at away games); Coastal would also have to lose one of its last two conference games--against Presby or Chuck South.

Liberty's run defense will be tested again this week, but the pass defense will get a workout as well. Im guessing Walt gets Norrell and Kenny Scott gets Gush

It's not KK's tiebreaker. It's the tiebreaker the coaches came up with an agreed upon. It's better than the convoluted points allowed in conference games tiebreaker. I still think in a three-way tie, it should be aggregate score in the games involving the three teams.

This will be the best team we will have faced all year. This is Stony Brooks best squad since being in BSC. We will come in very "beat up" physically but "up beat" emotionally. We will have to outscore them which will be our biggest challenge.

LU has shown they can stop Stony Brook's run game (as evidenced by 2010) but this is a very good team and we are playing at home which has proven to pick us up quite a bit, this would definitely be a signature win for the program

i think we will have to play a perfect game to win. totally agree with Chippy that this is the best team we will face this year. I hate to be negative, but i just do not see how we win this though i hope we do.

If we had the team that played Wake, I wouldn't be worried. We don't have that team. We can still win, but we will have to play our best game of the season, in front of some fired up fans (on both sides of the field).

I disagree. We will have to keep them from scoring more points then we do. :D

Thank you captain obvious version 2.0...you have the top two rushing defenses in the conference meeting this Saturday, as well as two of the top 3 pass defenses. I would be shocked if we saw a repeat of 2010 (or even the CCU game for us last year).

Stony Brook has been building up to this season with a combination of JUCO, FBS and Hofstra transfers. They will have a tougher go of it next season in the CAA. But right now, this is their moment to shine. Even if we don't get the conference auto bid, a victory this Saturday would be a huge step forward for the new staff and program.

Perfect example of my critical coaching hire of TG ---

Go click on Stony Brook Head Coach bio page and read his career records....

A unknown guy, with a impressive record as a HC --- probably not making half of what TG makes.

SB really benefited the most when Hofstra closed up shop. Maysonnet and Jacklowski to name a few.

How can you use 2010 as an example for what we can do THIS season?

Try to bring up historical facts does nothing for the game happening THIS season. All that matters is this season and this season we are an average team at best. No need to get your hopes up. We are losing this game.

I will be waiting for your typical "I hope the players aren't feeling this way" response....

We are an average team TD THAT I will agree with. That said, I think its going to be strength versus strength. If we lose, its not going to be as one sided as all the other games SB has played save Coastal.

I've watched a few of SBUs games this year and I really don't think they're as good as everybody is making them out to be. I mean I think we're about to get spanked by them but I think last year's LU team would win this game. I think their most important player is not even listed up in the key players at the top:

Michael Bamiro #69
6-8, 345 lbs

He is a human road grader.

Somebody really needs to look at the FCS poll that Sportsnetwork does. How in the world is UNI, with their 3-6 record, among the list of other teams getting votes? 7 points for a team that has 3 wins and cannot finish with a winning record for the season?

Albany has 192 points in the other section while Wagner, who just beat Albany 30-0 on the road, has 47.

What's going to happen if Lehigh loses to Colgate this coming weekend? They're both undefeated in the Patriot League, but Colgate has 3 losses against what looks to be a tougher OOC schedule.

I hope that poll plays absolutely no roll in determining playoff teams and seeds.

Look who UNI has lost to. Two of those were close losses to Iowa and Wisconsin.

Then look at the other 4 FCS teams they've lost to, with a combined record of 28-12.

That's why.
Are we back?

Nice! Here is to hoping we can live bot free.
