I agree. I think we dominate this game. I'm gonna go ahead and guess we win by 3 TD's...MINIMUM

Just seeing his pic has me missing Giddens. He was developing into a beast for us before he transferred home.

We play like we did tonight... we win by 2 touchdowns or more against this squad

If game 1 was what we can expect from the Gill regime, then we put up something along the lines of a 34-7 stomping.

Could you imagine if we still had him? Granted, he would've graduated last year but that's beside the point.

Don't just assume these guys will roll over. They will be coming up here expecting to win. They have a very good defense led by Giddens. I expect a low scoring, defensive struggle decided in the 4th Quarter.

Greetings Flames.

Question, how hard is it to get tickets the day of the game? Also, if I get a general admission ticket online, are they strict on enforcing seating, or is general admission just anywhere in a certain area? Looking forward making the trip for the game this weekend.

I dont know about game day availability but I get season tickets in GA and its first come first serve in the designated areas so if you want to get close, get there early!

this is Liberty... they'll sell you GA tickets right up until the last seconds of the 4th quarter. maybe later.

hope you enjoy the game & atmosphere, just not too much

yeah, we don't sell out. there's plenty of grass space, and id imagine we would have to have 30k+ on hand before we would stop selling tickets, and even then i doubt that we would.

With the availability of the grass embankments in the south end zone, no game at Liberty will ever truly sell out. Acquiring a general admission ticket on game day is no trouble at all. Furthermore, such a ticket entitles one to all the luxuries of festival-style seating. Indeed, first come, first served.

Ghost, I hope you'll return post game and inform us of your impressions both of he game and it's atmosphere through your experience. We welcome opposing fans here with open arms!

Good point, Manson. Wouldn't want to see reserved ticker holders get into a snit with visiting fans.

Here's a tidewater fishwrap's story on Jamal Giddens from their victory Saturday over Virginia State ...

NORFOLK After linebacker-led Norfolk State won the MEAC championship in 2011, senior Corwin Hammond proclaimed the Spartans "Linebacker U."

Even with Hammond's departure, NSU has lived up to its newly proclaimed reputation.

On Saturday, during a 24-0 win over Virginia State in each team's season opener, the Spartans trotted out linebackers as three of their four captains.

Like last year, the Spartans won with defense. Like last year, linebackers led the way.

Senior Jamal Giddens came out in the second half with dehydration and still finished with seven tackles, 4 1/2 for loss, two sacks and a pair of forced fumbles, all of which came when the game was still tight.

"I feel like the linebacker unit gets better every year," Giddens said. "After the season, I felt like we might lose a step. But after spring ball, I felt great."

Terrific intel, Immortal Spartan. We did follow the offseason coaching housecleaning over your way a bit perplexed. I agree that is tough for either of us to really know how we are based on last week's games against competition above & below us.

We too feel really confident in our defense. Our secondary is especially strong combined with tons of talent upfront. We are really going to be watching our offense this Saturday. Our leading rusher was suspended and we were rotating two guys who had a combined 4 quarters of game experience before heading to Wake. We should be better aligned heading into this week but we still need to know if this offensive can be explosive.

PS - Kick it to #3. Pretty please.
