Ha!!!! I bet a lot of you feel pretty stupid tonight. 37-0? Get off the boards.

I can't believe I am saying this, but we should have won this game. Wake did everything they could to give us this game...

Oh well, I didn't expect this too be so competitive...I hope this means good things the rest of the way. We shall see

All I can say is that I'm excited about this season. We play this well on defense,, and step up a bit more on offense, we can beat Montana at their place. We can beat Norfolk State and Lehigh. We can go to Myrtle Beach and cook the Beach Chickens, and we can drown the Seapuppies. This team is good, and this coaching staff knows how to adjust.

Tough loss, but howany times have we had a legitament shot at beating an ACC team? Never. Offense and defense look good. I have a good feeling about this team.

Very pleasantly surprised. There were the typical first game jitters at certain points, but we've got a few new pieces that showed something tonight. Gill had this team coached up and I like the diversity of the offensive attack. The D was very good at times, came up with some key stops, and gave up just 20 to a decent ACC offense.

My only real concerns this season were how long it was going to take for the team to get the new schemes and how long it would take to solidify the QB spot. Both of those things were 3-4 games ahead of my expectations. If they can sustain the effort they gave tonight, while tightening up the loose ends on offense, we've got a real shot at 9-10 wins and will have a chance to knock off Stony Brook.

Kudos to the coaching staff for having the team so prepared so soon.

I will say it right now, if we play like we did tonight, we are conference champions and we are a deep playoff team. Winning would have been better, but even with a close loss like this to a quality FBS team, we are going to get some attention from conferences and we may get some wheels moving. In the mean time, hopefully we can grab a National Title on our way out of FCS, won't go that far just yet though!

What a great game. I think we could have had a repeat touchdown if coach wouldn't have put woodham in... but we'll never know. I'm going to have to agree with logic on this one... everyone who said 37-0... comeon... no faith???

Excited about the Turner Gill era!

And not sad the Rocco era is over. Turnovers were not NEARLY as bad as they have been...

Great game!

Many posters on here may think I'm anti-Liberty, but that's not true. The Flames played well and were in a position to beat an ACC team tonight. QB accuracy probably cost them the game, but there's a lot to be proud of. Tons of grea things to build off of going forward.

I said what if this and what if that probably a hundred times and had to stop myself. It is what it is and even though it's really frustrating because we could have won this game Liberty still played really well and I'm excited about this team like the rest of you.

I think lack of experience at the QB position was the difference. Hudson played well, but played tight down the stretch.

The only other negative is the false starts...way too many.

The change in the defensive mindset is long over due.

I feel good about the rest of the season, better then I did a week ago.

Good game but this is the last time I feel good about a close loss in a game we could have won. If we want to be FBS I expect to win games like this regardless of who we are playing. We need to start expecting more. Wake is not that great a team. They will be lucky to win 4 more games all year.

Good start to the Gill era but we have plenty of room for improvement.

I agree wholeheartedly but this was a great place to start. Sure a win would have been awesome but to only lose by 3, we've proved we can hang in there with the FBS

I don't have any issue with what you're saying, but it's common knowledge we can hang in there. And to the people who don't know, they'll never care. I think what some are trying to say is that no one really cares unless we actually win.

Think of it this way. Our game won't make it to SC even though we were close. Had we won, maybe it makes it.

I thought we would lose by a couple touchdowns, so I am not going to complain. This is not a good Wake Forest team, but they are in the ACC and we are in the Big South. The talent they can get is just a little bit better then our available talent pool.

The facts we kept it close for the entire game proves we haven't lost much in the coaching/players changes. That is good news and nothing to be ashamed of.

I am disappointed because would should have won the game, but also excited, because I honestly was thinking 7-4 at best this season, but probably 6-5....now I think we will compete at a much higher level then I expected.

Good showing by fans in red. Approximately 2,500 in attendance. Confirmed 2,000+.

Hudson is the man.

Our RB's did a nice job getting to the edge of some stretch plays.

Hudson's INT was coming the whole way. Roll a righty to his left and he has only two options on that side. But I don't mind it as much because I felt like he had confidence to try to squeeze it in there. Oh well. Is rather an INT tring to do a little too much than floating or being foolish. He also doesn't have the deep out. That was evident in fourth quarter.

Liberty has talent, but the coaches - WHOA! Drastically different staff. Great adjustments throughout, very solid game management. Whoever mentioned in game thread something about poor clock management at end of first has lost their mind. It was smart to ensure the half ends with a FG attempt.

Lastly, I keep reading some on here call Wake a "solid FBS team" or the "best defense we'll face all year. Neither is true. Being FBS or in the ACC doesn't make a team elite. Wake is bad. Takes nothing away from Liberty's effort tonight, but Wake is a bad team in a weak football league.

I Couldn't post during the game because I have dog slow internet and I couldn't post and see the game. I am so proud and so disappointed at the same time. That fumble by Peter was killed and I noticed Gunn played more than him the rest of the game. I think the key is just getting in sync on key drives. Hudson did well over all, but couldn't get it in rythm at the right times. We have to get something going on the run and I was surprised that Brian ran so much. Both of out lines and our DBs dominated. Loved the way we were aggressive and tackled most of the game. LBs were awesome too but it hurt when Nick when out. Lunsford is a beast of a kicker, what power.

Overall, this is a very good team and the offense should be better than some thought early. I can't wait for Saturday.

"Gill doesn't make adjustments" Kansas fan..
my thoughts the positive
-coaches
-hudson
-defense even when the Sigmon went down
-Lunsford
negative
-penalties... killed a few drives with all the false starts and illegal procedures.

and Wake maybe be garbage but they were predicted to go bowling and finish middle of the ACC with 6-8 wins. Tanner Price is a pretty good QB too. So give some credit.

Didn't know what to expect with losing so much talent and a new QB/coach in place but surprised. I think there were a lot of questions that got answered tonight. Still a game we could have and should have won. Gutsy fourth down call by Coach. Hopefully Sigmon is OK,

I just didn't think Wake was that good. It's a nice start but I hope we don't have to fall into the 'look at how close we lost' argument again. We are waayyyy ahead of where anyone thought we would be. Let's keep that train Rollin in the right direction

I agree 100%. Especially about Wake not looking that good.
