Steele does 4 teams worth of FCS All-Americans and we have 2 players that made his rankings this year for the preseason. Malcolm Boyd is listed as a 1st team OL and Kevin Fogg as the 1st team KR. That's not too bad for a team with so much transition going on this year.

Additionally, he lists the top Freshmen, by position, for FCS this year (his player position rankings are a weighted combination of several recruiting services).

Here's how he ranks some of our Freshmen among FCS recruits this year:

DJ Abnar #4 RB
Damarcus Faison #30 WR
Canon Smith #2 TE
Dallas Griffiths #2 LB

Combine that with some of the things we're seeing for 2013 verbal commits, and Gill has really hit the ground running in a short recruiting cycle this year.

Phil Steele has been, by far, the most accurate college football source out there for 15 years. I'm not sure what there is to laugh about.

He is predicting Duke to be in a bowl this year.

No, he isn't. He's got them predicted in a 3 way tie for 4th in the ACC Coastal and says that the number of returning starters gives them a good shot of getting out of the basement in the Coastal division. His bowl predictions do not include them.
