I'll get us started. As has been mentioned in other threads, Towson will be much more of a test. At home, we win by 2 touchdowns. At their place, we win by 4:

27-23, Flames win!

I think itll be close but LU will pull a big surprise:

LU 28-Towson 20

Towson-20
Flames-17

Sorry guys, this is my 4th year at LU, and each time I hear "this is the year"-I know we have a new coach and all, but our first DI-AA game-and on the road-and I just don't see us pulling it out. However, I really hope that I'm wrong

LU 24 Towson 17

OK, perhaps I'm getting caught up the electricity around the program but I think we are going to pull off the upset as well.

Liberty - 27
Towson - 21

That said, this is an oppoent that based on their first two games has proven much more than we have.

Not making any picks, but I'll dispute Sly's point a bit, just as a nit pick. Morgan State suck-diddily-ucks. St. Paul's would probably have a real good shot of beating them. So I'll give Towson a lot of credit for the road win Saturday at Elon. But Morgan State? Eh, no better a victory than Liberty's DII wins.

Chris, you just said "suck-diddily-ucks." Did you make that up?

Watching too many Simpson reruns with all the downtime after meeting the midnight press deadline...Flanders by osmosis.

I stand by my take that a victory on the road at Elon trumps our two home DII victories. Not that there is anything wrong with us beating who we have in front of us.

Which is pretty much what I was getting at, Sly. 8) The MEAC, save for Hampton, S.C. State and maybe B-C, is horrendous. The win at Elon, though, very impressive for the Tigers.

One note about Towson-Elon: the new head coach at Elon is Pete Lembo. Last year -- and for several years before that --, he was the head coach at Lehigh in the Patriot League. The new defensive coordinator at Towson is Bob Benson. Last year -- and for several years before that --, he was the head coach at Georgetown in the Patriot League. Benson has seen the offense that Elon's running for a few years now so it doesn't surprise me at all that Towson was able to pretty much shut them down.

LU 27
TSU 20

Like I said before this is our first legitimate opponent after the 2 game preseason. I think we can pull it out but it will be tough especially at Towson. Towson showed last year that they can win agains't teams in the tough A10 such as Delaware, RI, Villanova, and others so this will not be an easy win for us. Based on Towsons performance this year it is tough to judge them. Not sure if Elon is much improved or not but time will tell. Morgan State is not much. St Pauls could probably give them a good game.

Not making my prediction yet but if Bob Benson is the coach, we are in for a doozy of a game. I covered him when he was at Georgetown and he had those guys prepared to play virtually every week. They struggled once they got in the Patriot League though. Defensively we are gonna be challenged. He had 1 stud WR when I covered them and he knew how to get him the ball. Should be a challenge to our db's.

I'm not naive enough to believe this is going to be a perfect season, and I see this as being one of our likely losses. We certainly stand a chance, but who doesn't in an athletic competition? I'm pulling for the Flames, but I know we're going to have a loss or three this season, too. I'm not one to make predictions, but if I had to, I'll take Towson 38 to 10.

Towson was a tough play to play. They had a very rowdy student body. Hopefully LU has some students make the trip and help the boys out. LU 17- Towson 14.

How can you say we certainly stand a chance and then turn around and have us losing by 4 touchdowns? It doesn't make sense. Especially, since the final score last year was only 38-17. I would certainly expect to see some improvement on that at least.
