We're back with a look at the last of the offensive skill positions. First up, the tight ends:

Players Lost:

Tommy Shaver 17 Rec 307 Yds 2 TD

Players Returning:

Andrew Cordasco No 2011 stats
Brandon Apon 5 Rec 34 Yds 2 TD
Justin Gunn 1 Rec 6 Yds 0 TD
Peter Gagliardi 6 Rec 80 Yds 1 TD

Shaver finally began to come around as top TE in 2011, earning first team all-conference laurels at the position. His will be big shoes to fill (figuratively AND literally), with the four returning TEs combining for 11 catches and 3 TDs last year. I think this position will probably come down to Gagliardi (the converted fullback), Gunn and Cordasco plus the two signees to the 2012 class, so expect a pretty open race come training camp at the position.

Fullback

Players Lost:

None

Players Returning:

Matthew Baptiste No 2011 Stats
Nicky Fualaau- No 2011 Stats (Redshirt)

The fullbacks didnt see much action in 2011 with the carries going to Mike Brown and the RBs, itll be interesting to see if Coach Gill and Coach Wagner decide to integrate Baptiste and Fualaau more into the offense unlike previous years with the fullbacks

So you're completely skipping Apon because.... :dontgetit He was the 2nd string last year and had 2 TDs. Coaches love him so far. Not sure why you're over looking him. Just saying.

Point noted pretty (on a side note, all the best to you and your bride to be, and hope your mom is continuing to improve). He certainly will be in the mix. It could afford us some depth at the position to have all five TE potentially earning the spots on the two deep (something our old friend roccgroh, as much as I disliked the guy, made a good point in wanting)

One of the things he kept mentioning (although his inability to structure it with proper grammar, syntax, sentence structure and rational thought certainly hampered his credibility in so doing) was a need for competition. With the change in coaching staff, we are getting just that. Look at QB...Tyler Brennan basically went from being the starter in waiting last year to not even being on the team this year because he couldn't beat out Woodrum and Hudson in the eyes of the new coaching staff.
