“Look, I wear a mouthpiece that’s considered a pacifier, and I wear that for a reason,” Jennings said. “It’s because I put on my mouthpiece, and shut up and work.” Jennings then closed his lips on purpose, said nothing more and walked back toward the locker room.http://jacksonville.com/opinion/blog/40 ... ontroversy
Jennings missed all of the 2011 season with a knee injury suffered in the preseason that landed him on injured reserve. The Jaguars were still a dominant rushing team, but without Jennings Maurice Jones-Drew had to shoulder the load. Jennings showed the ability to be a more than capable back up and even potential starter in 2010 when Jones-Drew was forced to miss some time with an injury. The 6'1 230 pound running back averages 5.4 yards per carry in his career this far, albeit as a back up, but is in a prime position to break out in a contract year, especially if Jones-Drew's hold ou lasts into the regular season.
