I'll be there! Who else is going? And any word if it will be streamed for Sly and Sum?

Yes, it will be streamed on the Liberty Channel. And that new Liberty phone app.

What is this news of a special announcement? Why special if we already "know" what it is? Is there something we don't know about? IF its just the FBS feasibility study results...why special announcement?

Because every announcement is special.

because its what we do at Liberty! Hype an announcement and then Flamefans.com begins to think, "what if its more!!??". Then that turns into a "fact" that we are joining the ACC by 2013. I love it!

Count me among those anxious to see the details of the study including comparisons to other similar schools.

It will also be a rare opportunity to have questions commonly asked on this board be addressed.

And oh yeah, it will also get our case out in further view of a relatively slow sports day while conferences are continuing to look at their options.

off topic i know but this is for Chris Lang, now that Liberty is FBS caliber, albeit without a current home can we please get Liberty listed under the sports dropdown on the N&A page. When you hover or click on sports VT effect and Cavalier Insider show up, you have to click more to get to Liberty. I think Liberty should be number one I mean we are in the N&A's city! Liberty should be more prominetly displayed, it frustrates me :) please? Thank you! I now return you back to your regularly scheduled discussion.

I've asked our web people the same question. I can't remember the answer they gave me. Something to do with wanting more people to go to the actual N&A sports page rather than just a Liberty page.

Purple already spoiled the surprise in another thread. The information has already been leaked.

Haha was this the announcement about the upcoming announcement to officially announce the big announcement?

Are they going to be taking questions from random audience members like they did at the Gill presser?

I doubt anything groundbreaking. It's an opportunity for the media to interview the principals involved. With all of the craziness on campus Saturday, no one was giving interviews.

I just saw that Jerry Jr. will be there. In fact, a picture of him in front of a podium is the picture for the announcement on the website. I tend to not read much into things like this but it does seem odd that he would attend a "special press conference." Additionally, all of the other conference realignment adjustments have come in the form of a "special press conference." Probably doesn't mean anything but one can't help but speculate.

He's a Falwell, and this is normal. Don't read anything into it.

As I watch this I know:

- We know most of what we are hearing
- We have to wait for an invite
- This may take a while

BUT

- I can't help as a long time LU fan feeling that this in HUGE!

GO LU!

Also, Barber stated that we will move all sports to the conference that invites us.

No, he said we intend to. He also said we had talked to several conferences, but would not name names.

Liberty can make the move in 48 hours -- Falwell said no other school can have that kind of timeline. I'm assuming power alone rests with Jerry Jr.
