We'll have seven running backs (not counting the FBs) on the roster after AA finishes up his eligiblity this upcoming season counting the two we signed last week plus Mosley (preferred walk-on). Unless this kid is the second coming of Reggie Bush (athletically...I wont talk about his off field issues), he is really gonna have to impress this upcoming season.

Eh...at that point I dont think anybody had a foreshadowing of what would happen in the next couple months with regards to AA or anything. With Richardson transferring in, we still have I think six or seven RBs on the roster and I guess the staff (which is much smarter than you or I in this regard) decided he was not the right fit for their recruiting plans for 2014. Looking at Arizona's roster, he would be a better fit there with the returning backs for 2014

The kid had scholarship offers from all five of the major BCS conferences. He clearly has skills.

I didnt say he didnt have skills. I said that my speculation is that after much examination and evaluation, even with the skills he possesses as well as his measurables, that they did not consider him the right fit at that position and decided to proceed elsewhere. Best of luck to him at Arizona.

Do we know for a fact he wasn't offered here? If not, maybe the staff knew he wasn't interested? If there's a chance someone with that talent may be interested in coming, I think they would have offered.

We have no idea what level of involvement our current staff had with this kid.

Sly's right. We don't know how much involvement the staff invested. my comments are purely my speculation based on the news from Sly that he committed elsewhere.

Beej, I swear man you crack me up! If he received offers from schools of all five major BCS conferences, then I doubt we were on his radar... doesn't matter if he was on ours.

You'd be surprised...but again all we can do is speculate for the most part outside of the little bits of info we have in this thread. As I said before, good luck to him at Arizona and 63 days til kickoff!

We can want him all day everyday till were blue in the face, the thing is he has to want us in return. If he had offers from bigger schools and we didnt offer maybe it was us who missed the boat. It's quite apparent he came from good pedigree, that in itself should mean a little something.
