2012 Signing Class Reactions

Many of you on this board are far more aware of the pulse of college football than I am. It appears to me that I'm seeing a major upgrade in talent in this class. I don't want to be blindly optimistic so... what say you? Is this a comparable class to those DR was bringing in or is this an upgrade and if an upgrade.. how much so?

It's the best class we've ever had, and I don't think it's close. We've got 3 or 4 kids in this class, who could arguably be considered the best recruit we've ever had. Right up there with Grant Jones.

Dallas Griffiths
Aharown Campbell
Darrin Peterson
DJ Abnar

I agree with JC. This has to be the best class in Liberty history.

Reading the Terps' message board at 247sports, they're REALLY confused about how they lost a recruit to us. I think we're making a few people notice us with this recruiting class. I look forward to seeing the benefits on the field.

It shouldn't be confusing. It's the same reason why the have lost 16 players to transfers this off season. Edsall is going to KILL that program. It's a sad day for Terps fans.

There MUST be more said during the recruiting process than "a study will be released". These kids are being sold on something more solid...

"JMU with top class"

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnf ... 1_2012.htm
This year's recruiting success both in and out of Virginia has given JMU arguably the best class in the Football Championship Subdivision. The CAA Football program has secured the highest number of two- and three-star recruits according to the nation's three main recruiting web sites, ESPN, Rivals and Scout.
By my count, they had four 2 stars and two 3 stars.

We had four 3 stars and and two 2 stars. :dontgetit

This guy was using the recruiting site info which for the most part hasn't been updated to reflect our class. ESPN still has us with just 3 recruits. Give it a day or two and folks will take notice imo...

Looking at the ESPN website of previous classes:

2012 - all they have us with so far is one 3 star (DJ Abnar)
2011 - one 3 star, one 2 star
2010 - one 2 star
2009 & previous - no signees with any "stars"

Objectively, would we have the top class in Virginia? 4 3Stars and 2 2Stars versus 2 3Stars and 4 2Stars.

They don't dedicate as much man power to FCS schools I don't think so the jury might be out for a few days until the dust settles. I think it's safe to say though that the hiring of Coach Gill had a positive effect here.

I wonder how App St. did..?

Big class! Coach Moore did a fantastic job, as he had no coaches for a good portion of this process. He is a class act and a man that really represents college football well. His Christian lifestyle guides him to make ethical decisions.

Sorry... I have become somewhat of an App St. fan over the past year living in Boone.

I don't know many details on these recruits but you can find more info at: http://www.goasu.com/ViewArticle.dbml?D ... =205371900

I think LU's class is right up there with the top in the country! It doesn't matter if we are mentioned in the media like JMU was. What matters is that in the next 4 seasons these fellas show up and stand out.

Go Flames!!

Evaluating Recruiting classes based upon stars is sorta pointless. But its all we has fans have to go by. We have a 4 star in Ayers, who also fits the bill of a FBS transfer , and we still dont know if he will be a solid contributer.

As evidenced by the New England Patriots this year, football is much more of a system game than any other sport. Your coaching staff is the number one measure of how good your program/team will be. And right now, I would rank our coaching staff above most at the FCS level.
