It's a final...CSU wins 21-13. CSU didn't look very sharp after the first quarter (they gained 120+ yards in the first quarter, only 80-something yards the rest of the game), and were outgained by the Blue Hose, 380-210. But they were able to capitilize on some PC turnovers to win the game.

Nevermind, he beat me over here.

CSU's victory shows how far they have come in 12 months since that shellacking to the Hose a year ago.

What a terrific opening week for the Big South thus far. It'd be great to see the Chants make it a clean sweep.

The bad thing is Coastal is the only one playing a scholarship I-AA team.

Holy crap ... that VMI-Davidson game was one of the most entertaining games I've seen in some time. Davidson scores a TD with no time left then opts to go for two and is stopped a foot short.

VMI will not win another game this season.

VMI will finish dead last. Chuck South didn't impress me at all having to rely on some luck and a bad call to beat a DII school. GW beat up a non-scholly team and we beat up on a DII school. t's hard to tell anything about the conference other than VMI sucks.

Davidson's quarterback -- VES grad Ryan Alexander -- threw for 404 yards and 2 TDs. That's not a good sign for the Keydets.

Hard to judge a conference's performance playing competition like that.

Coastal's down 13-6 in the 2nd. Thig threw an interception and Elon converted into a TD, missed the XP. Two Hoke FGs and then a 42-yard Elon touchdown.

16-6 Elon.

Coastal had a 1st and goal from the 5. They handed it to Perk, almost threw an interception, then threw an incomplete pass. That was horrible play calling. Josh Hoke hits the field goal. 16-9.

23-9 Elon, 11 minutes to go 3rd quarter.

Hoke missed the field goal for CCU. Coastal's coming off the field pretty dejected.

Looks like it will be another typical exciting ending to a Coastal game...they always make things interesting.

It's looking like they won't pull this one out though. 2nd and 7 from the 17 with less than two minutes to go. Elon ball.

48 seconds, Elon has the ball around the 18, 4th down and short.

Missed field goal. Coastal has the ball. The clock has screwed up twice in Coastal's favor.

22.7 seconds. 4th down and 2 to go.

Incomplete. Elon wins.

welcome to the dark side, SJ. I'm sure you will no longer be welcome over there!

I didn't say I was pulling against them. I just didn't think they would win.

The results that I have been seeing on this board doesn't say too much for Big south football. Elon is the worst team in the Southern conference and they beat the BSC best team and the rest of the opposition is non-scolly level. Chuck south finally beat Div 2 Presby but just barely and after getting clubbed 42-0 the past few years.
