He looks like he is in the BJ Hayes mold and would be good as a slot receiver who takes handoffs in jet/fly motion and can use speed to his advantage on the outside

He's small but he already looks like a man.

Maurice Jones-Drew
Ray Rice
Barry Sanders
Emmitt Smith
Priest Holmes
What do they have in common? All are 5' 9" in shorter. Being tall is not a prerequisite to being a great RB.

Mark Ingram (5'9" 205) did pretty well too for a short guy...
Weighed 195 coming out of high school and also ran a 4.4 like this kid.
I would love to sign this guy! Keep them coming Coach!

You don't even have to go to the NFL to find comparisons. 'Dre Barnes wasn't exactly a bruiser...

He is certainly a BJ Hayes type based on his size. If he is anything like Darren Sproles (a very fast and smaller back) he could really make a difference to the offense. They also could line him up in the slot and bring him in jet motion as I mentioned before

In what way is he a BJ Hayes type player? Have you looked at this kid and looked at what BJ Hayes looked like when he came to Liberty? BJ was short and super fast but not big at all. This guy is short, fast, and already built like a man.

Lincoln's Abnar commits to Liberty
In the end, D.J Abnar decided he would rather run with the ball for the next four years than try to chase it.
That's one big reason why Abnar, a senior at Lincoln High, committed to play football at Liberty University.
Despite offers from bigger programs like Illinois, Southern Mississippi and North Carolina State to play cornerback, Abnar chose the Flames because they will allow him to play tailback.
Liberty, which plays as a member of the FCS (formerly known as Division I-AA), also offered Abnar another opportunity.
"They are going to let me run track," Abnar said. "That was also part of the deal. That was a big help for me to make the decision."
Abnar competes in the 100-meter, 200-meter and long jump for the Trojans and also runs a leg on the 4x100 relay team.

also like this part:
Abnar also had offers from Middle Tennessee State, FIU, FAU, Troy and Iowa State, but said he knew Liberty was where he wanted to play after a weekend visit to the campus located in Lynchburg, Va. His parents accompanied him on the trip.
"My family actually fell in love with Liberty before I could," Abnar said. "They liked the same things I liked -- the coaching staff and the academics. The academic part really brought everything into perspective for my parents. They liked the facilities and where I will be staying. They fell in love with the whole school."
now where's the guy that was saying we can't sign any "D-I" athletes b/c they will all go to UVa or Tech for the academics

Huge Committ. Almost feels like a turning point for the program. We can land a kid like this, and there are more like him on the way.
Anyone know if he was already looking at us under Rocco/Skalaski or only recently under Gill/Skalaski?

Awesome news. Those are some strong (and upcoming) programs that we beat out for D.J. Can absolutely relate to what was said in the article about the family visit to Liberty and the strong feeling it leaves you with.
Congrats to D.J. and the coaching staff!

Just watched some of the RB highlights - this kid can flat out fly and has some nice moves. Even though they wanted him for defense, I am surprised that there isn't more excitement on here for us getting an athlete like this that was offered by the likes of Illinois, NC State, and Southern Miss.

I'm excited! I had heard that he verballed but we hadn't seen a confirmation up to this point. What a fantastic pickup for Coach Gill & his staff!
