I made it there too late to see any pregame activities. I assume there was not parachuters or fog because of the weather. Did they just run out on the field? Was there music playing? Anything of note happen? I was sorely disappointed that I missed it.

They played the Ric Flair music and there was some fog. There wasn't anything entirely special. The parachuters will be for homecoming.

We did it, as well.

The guys from my hall just stood there with the Four Horsemen sign high in the air. They unleashed the fog and the players came running out on the field and the pom-poms were flying.

Much better start than last years version.

Heh. I think you mean the theme from "2001: A Space Odyssey".

I was hoping for better intro music.

I couldn't remember that. I figure most people know it as Flair's music so I could get the point across that way.

You want better than "2001"?! Given our connections, I suppose we could have invited down a chorus of angels to send us onto the field but, aside from that, "2001" is one thing I am absolutely thrilled that JB brought with him from Columbia! I can't wait to hear it on the new PA.

Music from a 1968 movie is the best there is? Granted that music is classic, but I think we could have something a little more modern and unique.

I would've hoped for something to get you pumped up. That song doesn't really. When I was in Midget Football we our team ran out to Where ever I may roam by Metallica. It was awsome, and a little absurd for 10 year olds now that I think about it. VT stole that idea from us. They most likely had some kind of marketing spy at our games and they just changed the song.

I agree what with new Sandi Patti, Cathedral's, Imperial's and Michael W Smith albums out!!! 2001 is great IF you have a lot of time to boost up the crowd, plus ALREADY TAKEN. (I hate being a copy cat!!!) Elton John has some good tunes!!! Sort of like coming out to Enter Sandman (TECH already does that) Can't we do something original??

What I don't understand about the intro, is that LU's band can play 2001 Space Oddessy, they've played it in the stands before...why play a tape of something that they could play live??
