A Sea Of Red

Anybody have any info regarding if we are gonna go back to the navy blue helmet? I can't stand those white helmets...they look terrible.

In connection with the helmet talk. Does anyone else extremely dislike our logo, especially for a helmet.

1) To the untrained eye a person not related to Liberty or seeing it for the first time can't tell what it is. Your eye is drawn to the script and then you find yourself in the midst of tangled web of lines, until you finally see that it's an eagle head.

2) You can't decipher what it is on a helmet, it's way too busy. I can't think of a busier helmet in D1 football. It ranks up there with Florida A&M and Bethune Cookman. It almost rather see the interlocking LU on the helmets (minus a flaming football).

I'd like to see the department get a new logo in general, maybe create an "alternate" logo so you don't totally have to rebrand everything? Maybe a front view of a Eagle (ala Morehead St) or some mean looking talons, haha.

Seems like we have this helmet conversation a lot around here. But I will keep saying this until somebody in whatever applicable department corrects it. The logo on the football field needs to be the logo, and never altered. It needs the white surrounding it, on a nonwhite background. On the old turf, they put the logo, just red and blue and it looked as dumb as it does on the helmets. It needs to be red and blue and surrounded in white.

I don't know what you'd do on a white helmet. You'd be at square one.

Maybe forget about changing logos and uniforms every other year and just go with something simple like a solid color, maybe the numbers on the side of the helmet, if you want to get fancy maybe a stripe down the middle...oh wait...someone already does this. HA.

My take..win games and win often and no one will care about the logo or the uniforms. I think we are headed in that direction.

You can't even see the Big South logo on the field

I don't mind the helmets even though I did miss the blue one this year. If you really wanted to change the logo I would go with the fighting sparky logo. I also would not mind seeing red helmets instead of white.

I absolutely hate the white helmets. Bring back the navy.

Navy Blue helmets look better. And I vote for the players last name on back of their jersey too!!

Something tells me helmet color is on the backburner for the new staff right now in comparison to recruiting.

But I agree, the white helmets looked awful. A poster on AGS referred to them as "craptastic". I couldn't argue.

First assumptions? I ask myself that, but who knows.

If you do take just the head of the JayHawk then it does look A LOT like the Liberty logo, just colored in.

For the money we are spending they should be able to multi task this important issue!

I also think 'misplacing' the white helmets would be a good idea. Blue would be good and Red would be daring!

I liked the white helmets when paired with white pants and white jersey.

That is the ONLY time the white helmets looked ok (w/white jersey and white pants). I kinda like the current logo, but that is because when I first got there, we had the "LU" with the flaming football for our logo. That was terrible. Also, when we first switched to that, none of it was outlined in white on the helmets and you couldn't see it. It looks ok now (on a navy blue helmet). Didn't really like the red helmets they used to have. We need to get our own look and stop trying to look like UVa.

Well I remember when UVa unveiled the V sabre logo and I actually liked it. I was surprised when I first saw those helmets instead of the solid white helmets they had in the early 1990s when they were at or near the top of the rankings nationally

The white helmets would've looked good if we would've put the LU monogram logo on there like we had originally planned.

Agree 100%. That would look better, but I still like the white better either way.

yeah, when we're in all white, it's not terrible. But I still don't like it. I was disappointed when we wore those vs. NC State. We needed to look like we weren't some rag tag school who didn't care about how we looked.

I know, football isn't about how you look. I just think it makes us look low quality, when we all know that's far from true.

But feel free to disagree, just my 2 centavos.

IMO- the logo looks 1000% on the white helmet. Its not even close.

School colors - red, white, blue and BLACK No white helmets (only maybe with the LU monogram)and no black jerseys - that's my vote coach
