Who starts next year? Woodrum, Henderson, Brennan, Hudson?

The "pat answer" would have been Tyler Brennan, but with the coaching change, that throws this thing wide open. I wouldnt be surprised to see Henderson or Woodrum to be the #1 by the time the spring football game rolls around

I think you should have a 5th option - "Don't know". The reason being we saw 2 of them sparingly this year and the other 2 have not seen any action. I for one can not choose unless I know them personally, have seen them play prior to coming to LU, or have seen them in game action here at LU. I think this will be a "coach's call" in the spring when they do their evaluations and look at past game film of the 2 that did suit up last year and previous years (Brennan).

Gabe has some Turner Gill-esque attributes. As a result I would give him the slight nod depending on te offense we install. This will likely clear up in the spring. But I agree that this wide open.

With all of Gill's contacts, he might even bring in a I-A or junior college transfer at QB.

Before Rocco left I would say Brennan. Now I'll say Gabe.

I'll say Brennan only because I would like to see us return to a more traditional offense, like in the Brock Smith, Rashad Jennings days. Heavy runs from Aldreakis Allen with play action mixed in. I-Form, Two Tight End Sets, Three wide. Is that what is going to happen? Probably not. But I can dream!

Brennan is still a balanced type QB. Woodrum is the only true pocket QB on the roster. I'd like us to go with Woodrum. I think he has more talent than the rest of our guys, could be what Michael Rocco was to UVA for us. Gabe Henderson plays a lot like MB and I wouldn't mind seeing him behind center either.

As bad as Gabe wants to stay at QB, I believe that they will move him back to receiver. Brennan WILL be our starter with Hudson and Woodrum battling out for number 2. What in your right mind would believe Woodrum is our starter come spring? Makes 0 sense.

starter in spring, probably not, good chance to win the job next year absolutely. You obviously have never seen him play if you think he has no chance to win the job

Anyone who has ever met Woodrum or seen him play knows that he's going to be the best LU QB to date by his senior year. He throws a better ball than any of the other guys, he's just not as mobile.

Woodrum might be by his senior year, but he will be a redshirt freshman next year and probably will not play over Tyler Brennans size, accuracy, and playing experience. so no for woodrum

Woodrum is already more accurate than Brennan. Go watch a practice and you'll see. As for size, it's not like Brennan is dramatically bigger than Woodrum. It's an inch and 20 pounds. We already have a young team, I'd go ahead and give Woodrum the experience. South Carolina had a similar situation at QB to start the year, Connor Shaw got them an 11 win season and a really promising future.

And this is why he's posting on a message board and not making this decision...

haha, because clearly brennan has shown those attributes. He has proven nothign to me, If i'm the new head coach i go with the younger guys with upside rather than a 1 year guy who has proven nothing so far. I disagree CJ about Josh not being mobile. I've saw him play at Cave Spring several times. Sure he's not the scrambler like MB or Vick style but he's got that Aaron Rodgers type mobility that moves him outside the pocket and allows for throws on the run. He can tuck it when he needs to. Brennan may end up starting but he has shown nothing to me, i go with gabe or woodrum. Not to mention i would be shocked if he doens't have the strongest arm right now of that whole group far and away.

Cj- I guarantee you that I have seen more practices than you, and you have no clue what your talking about when it comes to accuracy. Brennan is larger in height and weight, game experience and has proven that he can play at this level. Stronger in the weight room and works harder than Woodrum. Brennan is our starter and Woodrum will be a great player for us in the long run. Rumors have had it that Brennan may leave though, then Woodrum would have a chance.
BJ- the comment about posting on a discussion board is simply irrelevant. Arent you doing the same thing? your posting your opinion which half the time on this board is far from accurate.
Jinxy- your talking about Brennan not proving anything, what more has Woodrum proved in a collegiate game?

Ummmm, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. I can and do watch practices from my dorm room. Not to mention, several times I was the only one in the stadium watching practices when it was in the 30's and 40's in Nov. I think I only missed about 5 or 6 practices all season. If you've seen more practices than me, I guarantee that you have no active dating life.

I was referring to Josh's playing style rather than what he can do. I watched him play at CS as well and he has mobility but it isn't like MB or anything. I see and like the Aaron Rodgers comparison. I just think Woodrum can scramble if he needs to but he isn't going to be very effective with option plays and such.

Im not sitting here pretending to know better than Coach Gill (or Coach Rocco before him). I can say what I want but at the end of the day, I know that he is the one who is going to be making the decision and he is a better evaluator of talent than I am. If I could do the job better, I wouldnt be posting on here either now would I?

Running back concerns me more than QB. Since Jennings left we have not had any running attack.

Have you watched Aldreakis yet? That's our RB.
