Does anybody think it's strange that the color guy for the radio is the Director of Football Administration? I mean, I know your own radio guy is normally a huge homer but I can't imagine anything negative or critical coming out of Rut's mouth.

I don't find it that unusual. When Kim Graham was director of compliance and had worked on the football staff, he used to do the color with Jerry. I thought Paul Rutigliano was good last night. Jerry can command a broadcast because he is so used to working alone for football but I thought they had good back and forth. Paul has a ton of insight and knows the history of Liberty's division 1 days since he has seen it first hand for many years. Making Jamie a sideline reporter only instead of sideline/color was a good idea. All in all I thought it was fun to listen to. The good Dr. Edwards forgot to mention our own Nick Pierce and Jerod Brooks in the closing credits but it wasn't that big of a deal. I wil be in the stadium for game 2 for sure.

SCAR, I am going to have to disagree with you on this, even though you have such vision and wisdom in this area. I DO agree it doesn't make a difference that he is on the football staff. After alll, this is our broadcast and we don't really want them to be anything BUT biased for us!! THat is the way the game is played. HOWEVER, while I grant he may and most likely DOES have a lot of insight, there is a LONG way to go. I couldn't get out of my mind the Rush Limbaugh parity of The Tom Daschle Show. I love Jerry, but the two person booth came to a GRINDING halt a lot last nite. I don't know Paul and am sure he is an outstanding humanitarian and a tremendous asset to the human race, but a little more spark (SPARKY anyone) would be great. Everytime he tried to add something it was painful. To quote a great movie "When you tell a story, HAVE A POINT, it makes it soooo much more interesting for the people listening"
We have a lot of football left to be played so hopefully it will improve. I will continue to tune in and appreciate the improvement.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to have a little problem with the broadcast. My understanding is that the Color guy is supposed to add some flare and insight to the game. None of that really took place last night. Maybe if he tried changing his tone a little bit. I dunno. Kinda sounded like he was trying to tell his kid a bed time story instead of commenting on a football game.

The thing we have to remember is that it was Paul's first broadcast... ever.
I think for a first broadcast, he did a great job. As the season goes along the chemistry will get better.

Yeah, yeah, yeah that's all well & good. But the burning question of the moment is where are the pics?

Well... I do try and snap off a few in between reports on the sideline... but with the weather it wasn't worth the risk of having to send off my camera for repairs. Les got some stuff for the SI guys but I don't know if I'll be able to coax any away from him. I'll try.

I'm not sure there is a zoom lens that strong.
