We just landed a BIG defensive tackle out of the JUCO ranks. Jibrelle committed to the Flames today over Tulsa, New Mexico State and Tennessee!

The fact that we're landing recruits over fbs schools, should say a lot about Gill and the future of our program.

he can def. move for his size, shows good ability to bull rush as well. Sly, does he have 2 years eligibility. I think this was our biggest weakness on defense last year.

We'll have him for the 2012 & 2013 seasons. This is a great addition to an already stacked defensive talent pool. The new staff has some great tools to work with in improving our defensive success.

Very important, and sometimes underrated, position for any program to land an immediate JUCO contributor for - more so for us as this was somewhat of a weakness for us last year.

I've heard his stock was on the rise this past month or so as FBS schools went looking for help on their defensive fronts. This is a great coup and it sounds like he is fully on board. Here's the reply to FlameFans' question to Jibrelle about whether or not he'll still be taking visits:

Cider, nobody can sign until Feb 1 but he is definitely a good pickup for Gill's first recruiting class. having some size will prove helpful against the run.

Feb 1 is for high schoolers. i believe Jucos can sign anytime before spring semester.

You sure on that? I thought J'courtney couldn't sign until feb.1 then he fell apart later when he didn't do what rocco asked him to do. I dont know, maybe that was by choice but he def. didn't sign until feb 1

Jibrille or any other jucos can sign and enroll before the spring semester. official announcements can be made feb 1 or before dead period. December 21 was the official Juco signing day.
