He is really good friends with Tony Dungy and he talks about sitting down and praying about his situation in Washington..Not to mention he is currently with the Kansas City Chiefs who had their head coach fired, so he could be unemployed soon

Just because things were a mess in DC doesn't mean he isn't a viable candidate here. As a player, he was very outspoken about his faith.

Going from QB coach and being thrust into an HC job was pretty much being set up for failure. Especially when there was a huge mess for him to clean up. I really think he got a raw deal with the skins. But, then again, a head coach is what we're looking for.

read his (auto?)biography many many years ago, and watched him play as a kid. Zorn to Largent anyone? tho it just occured to me that probably less than 5% of the kids on the mountain today are aware that he played in the NFL.
by all accounts a good guy, but can he coach?

I have a hard time trying to pull for a Redskin, current or past.

I'm having hard time adjusting to concept that a majority of our FlameFans seem to remember him more for that short stint in DC as opposed to his incredible career passing to Largent over & over again for six. I'm definitely getting older by the minute.

I think everyone needs to understand just how hard it is to win under Dan Snyder. Two possibly three hall of fame coaches haven't been able to do it since he became the owner. I wasn't a huge fan of Zorn but I think he's on of those, "out of the box" hires that could work out.

I wonder if Jim or John H have another brother that'd like to help out here? Don't feel old Sly, just relish the fact that you are the elder statesman of the board.

Zorn's college resume isn't very impressive. He was a QB coach at Boise State (88-91), offensive coordinator at Utah State (92-94) and back as QB coach at Minnesota from (95-96).
While his stint as a head coach with the 'Skins has been a well-documented failure, it probably had more to do with the losing culture that Snyder has built. Coaching under the weight of a guy like Snyder can't be easy. However, he is probably maxed out as a QB coach in the pro's and probably wouldn't offer a whole lot on the college level, IMO.

Snyder obvioulsy sucks, but did you see some of the playcalls Zorn went with? "Swinging Gate" ring a bell? He's a solid QB coach, but that's it. Terrible playcaller.
Whomever is suggesting this must own a toy store in Lynchburg, b/c if Zorn comes then the Slip'n'Slide and dodge ball sales will sky rocket.
