Does anyone know if we had any recruits already committed for next season? If so, any word on whether they are staying put or looking elsewhere?

Great to have another former player on the board. Stick around and join the conversation.

We had a pair of public commits listed above in the 2012 Prospects. Both would be shaky after the staff left ... especially the 6' 5" WR from Tampa who was being recruited by the now departed Coach Skalaski.

Skalaski isn't leaving.

Really? When did he change his mind? Last I heard he was the first to accept an offer from Coach Rocco.

That's what I heard too Sly. Would love to keep him

Never accepted Richmond offer, but decision was said to be gut-wrenching. He enjoyed working for Rocco. Believes in LU's mission and future and wants to help hold recruiting class together. Rolling the dice. He will need to interview with new HC for a spot on the staff.

Wow. If true this is great to hear. I hated to lose him worse than anyone else.

Barber just said Skalaski and Sundheim were going to be the contacts for the football tean since they are not appointing a interm coach

Itd make sense to do that. Its also good that you have probably the two best assistants we have had on the mountain sticking around and keeping up contact with the recruits.

Just a question. Wouldn't most head coaches of a sizeable program want to bring in their own staff? Not implying anything, just asking.

Yes, they bring in their own guys. But they also prefer to have some holdovers from prior staff to help ease the transition.

Skalaski Jr's Twitter has made it sound like daddy was gone. I hope he's decided against that but I haven't heard anything.

Ha. Someone just showed me where Skalaski Jr said he didn't want to be mentioned on FlameFans unless he's a candidate for a job. He also said message boards "validate the opinions of the ignorant." The "make your profile private" button is a good one to use in these situations.

Heard from a former player that Skalaski is staying. That makes me really happy. Have always been a huge fan of him and he's awesome at his job. He's a great guy to have at our school.

I used to follow him on Twitter. Let's just say he is a very opinionated young man.

Charlie was on the team with PK when I was covering them in high school. He didnt get to do a whole lot (I think he was third or fourth WR at LCA). I guess if you cant make waves on the field, you might as well make them off the field

CJ. Sundheim and Gomes will be a part of the next staff. They have a 'special relationship' with the University. Which is fine and I'd like to see 'he whose name shall not be mentioned unless he is a head coach candidate' stay.

He's not ready. But I agree.

Looks like some wires got crossed here...Coach Skalaski's son, same name, is the one who said he didn't want HIS name mentioned on here unless he was a candidate (obviously a joke). I would agree...some posters jumped on the bandwagon of bashing a college kid. He may be opinionated, pretty sure I was in college too (thankfully twitter didn't exist), but this is a Christain University and that was pretty petty.

I understand there was a four-star rivals recruit WR 6'5 on campus in November that is seriously considering Liberty....out of the DC area....committment has not change...really loved the campus and wants to be in a small town/christian environment

I wasnt trying to bash him per se (at least from a personal perspective).

Rivals and ESPN don't have a 4 star WR taller than 6'2" in MD, DC or VA and none of them have Liberty as a verbal or even an interest.
