I know that we have a thread on this but I wanted to take a poll. So, I went through the site and tried to find all of the suggestions.

Voted Mike Groh.

Almost said other as I think it would be interesting to try and make a huge splash like a Paul Chryst from Wisconsin if he would be on board with doing things the Liberty way. Even someone like Scot Loeffler from Temple could be interesting.

Is this who would want to be the coach or who we think will be the coach?

I would want Wulff, but my money is on Wachenheim.

A little bit of who we want and who is realistic. That's why Randy Shannon, Kurt Warner and such aren't on there. Some have better chances than others.

I didn't even realize such a thing existed as a "Steve Spurrier Jr.", that's like my worst nightmare!

He's actually been quite successful and I think Barber's SC history may be enough to reel him in. I think he also has the name recognition to reel in top recruits.

I don't know if any of these guys are actual possibilities so I just voted other. I will allow the names to leak out and then decide because that is what will happen here soon enough.

BJ I need you to be on standby and ready to hide in some bushes!! 8)

If we are tossing out coaches with Alabama pedigrees, how about that assistant in Austin named Major?

Why don't you Groh up! [said merely for the pun of it]

Interesting name as well. It would be a major coup if we nab a coordinator from a major program.

Major would have to take quite a pay cut from UT. But he fits the Christian character perspective and certainly has the resume.

I heard from a football player that the O-Coordinator from UVA has pretty much gotten the job. Not sure who that is and since it's UVA and the time of the hour, I don't care about looking it up.

If so, that's Bill Lazor.

He served in several roles for 7 (94-00) years at Cornell after his playing days as their QB. He was the recruiting coordinator there for 2 years.

He was offensive coordinator for the University of Buffalo for 2 years (01-02).

He was the offensive quality control coach for Atlanta (03) under Dan Reeves.

He was an offensive assistant for 2 years with the Redskins (04-05) then QB coach for the Redskins for 2 years (06-07) under Joe Gibbs.

He spent 2 years in Seattle as QB coach for Mike Holmgren (08) and Jim Mora Jr (09).

He's been the offensive coordinator/QB coach for UVA the last 2 years under Mike London.

He turns 40 next summer. If he's the hire, that could well point towards the idea that he's being brought in as a long term coach who is expected to guide the transition to FBS and beyond.

Guys, nothing is a done deal. We are still getting the list together right now. Lazor may be on the list but he doesn't have anything sewed up by any stretch of the imagination. Bill Carr's team is putting together a group of candidates and will be presenting it soon. Have patience in the process. Confidence is running very high from the powers that be on campus that we are positioned to get an outstanding hire.
