As has been mentioned a number of times over the past 24 hours, the school is once again using Gainesville-based Carr Sports Associates. For Houston AD Bill Carr's agency is now the largest headhunter/placement shop in the business. They were also utilized by LU in our preparations to make the jump to the FBS level and to get our Title IX concerns lessened.

Sunday, Arkansas State was in the same position that we were after Hugh Freeze took the Ole Miss job that Coach Rocco was apparently chasing. Here's a section from an article on ASU's search from a local fishwrap that might reveal a bit about how our search may be going down ...
ArkansasSports360.com wrote:As for the coaching search, Lee already had list of 80 potential new head coaches Sunday night.

“As we move forward and look for candidates, I will rely on experts in the profession. I will have dialogue with individuals out there, AD’s, former AD’s, coaches who I consider to be experts and have values and opinions that I have great respect for,” Lee said.

ASU has enlisted the services of the search firm Carr Sports Associates to help in the search of the next football head coach after helping in the searches for basketball head coach John Brady and baseball head coach Tommy Raffo. Lee has high praise for the company’s leader, Bill Carr.

“Bill has been in the profession for many, many years and brings a lot of expertise and a lot of knowledge. He is currently completing the North Carolina search. He’s been involved in the UAB search as well.”

It should be noted that Carr helped UAB in their search and they had somebody in place in just over a week. That would be welcome news for us considering the challenges ahead and our current situation in regard to realignment.

What about some of the candidates for the UAB job? I don't know if these guys would fit with LU, but they have the connections with Carr:

Auburn assistant Curtis Luper
Arkansas OC Garrick McGee
former Illinois OC Paul Petrino

Petrino is back as his brother's OC at Arkansas. I believe Luper was coveted by UAB for his local recruiting ties that wouldn't be quite as attractive to us. And McGee got the UAB job.

But I like the way you are thinking. The same consultants are involved and likely will be offering up similar options.

Is anybody at South Carolina that Barber would look at/would give us a look?

They got a guy named Jeep Hunter. That's pretty sweet.

I beat you to that line of thinking in the more appropriate thread - who's our next coach
