There is constantly bashing of the BS on these forums, and rightly so. There is also much talk of BCS and CAA or SoCo, moves for LU. So why not a thread about it.

Give me your view on where we should go as far a conferences are concerned. Why should we make that move? What does it benefit us? When do you see it happening? What do we need to do to get there, and be successful once we are there?

I have a friend in athletics that had a discussion with Barber about future conference moves for us. He said he will not move sideways but up, and clarified this by saying were not moving anywhere in FCS but that he plans on Liberty moving to FBS within 2 years and for Liberty to win a bowl game before he retires. :D

He also had some conference heads around over break to look over our facilities...not our trophy case

Does this fall in line with the promises of FCS National Championship, Baseball Super Regional and advancing in NCAA Basketball tournament or is it under the "New Christianity"?

The chips need to continue to fall around the country before there is any clear vision of a "new home" for Liberty. It's starting to look like there may be less shuffling around the country now then anticipated.

I'm really interested to see if the CAA supplements their northern football schools with Fordham and Stony Brook.

It would be awesome to see LU in the Big-East but those chances are slim to none. Ideally I would like to see Liberty join the C-USA, however, I think the C-USA is looking for more western teams. So, if we move anytime soon, it will likely be to the Sun-Belt. The benefits of moving up are endless. I could almost guarantee that we would sell out all home games the first five years, we could host big name opponents like VT or UVA, the money is also a factor. Not to mention the potential money if we were to make a bowl. A move to the Sun-Belt wouldn't be as attractive as the C-USA or Big-East obviously. On the other hand, we could come into the Sun-Belt and be competitive right out of the gate.
Additionally, I think we have a really good shot at moving to the MAC, should they ever expand. I think the majority of our FBS opponents have actually been from the MAC, and beating Ball State lasy year helps our resume.
