FIRE DRILL CALLED OFF

At about 8:20 or so Jeff Barber came up to us and told us that there was a small packet of storms coming through but we should be ok. Unfortunately, about ten minutes later, we were told that there was lightning within three miles so we had to cancel it. I was down on the field though, the band was playing, the cheerleaders were there, and it was awesome. The cheerleaders were running over a cheer and the sound was bouncing off the FOC. That place is going to be so loud. The turf is awesome, the FOC is amazing, and tomorrow night should be flat out crazy.

How was the SFC turnout?

We had probably 125-150 in the meeting tonight. However, the Fire Drill was called off at around 8:50 or so and it wasn't supposed to start til 9:15. Church hadn't gotten out yet and all of that. I talked to a lot of people around campus today (that weren't in the SFC) and they said they were going to it. There was an article and a huge ad in The Champion for it.

A couple of pictures before I had to put the camera away.

Just got done walking through the Opps Center... The Jersey's are hung up in each locker space which means we are less than 24 hours away from kickoff.... Hopefully the rain will not be unbearable....btw the Medic is coming so you have no excuses!!!!!

The plan, and you should remember because you were there when I laid out the idea, was to have them after curfew the night before games. A lot of kids will come then because it's after curfew and no one wants to be in their dorm at 12:30 on a Friday night. I have no clue if that's when it'll be though.

Why? Football is played at The Bill.

Imagine what that place will sound like in several years when it's bowled in...

You got 15 million bucks? That's what it's gonna take to add 10,000 seats.

I don't like the Vines idea... maybe and only if it rains should you have it at the Vines... It should be at the Stadium

Yeah, I have it in an off-shore account in the caymans, just have to make the call to wire it over to Bank of the James, paperwork didn't get pushed through before the 4 pm deadline today...okay, maybe I should say, "in 15 years," unless someone else sells a life insurance company or writes a post-apocalyptic set of novels.

Here's another one...

i know, but we knew it was going to rain for a few days now. so i was saying that they should have changed it. i was using the bball pep rally as an example because it didnt turn out as bad as everyone thought.... and that was pre Barber

No one really knew if it was going to rain for sure tonight or how hard it would be. If it was drizzle like it'd been all day, we would've been fine. It was the lightning that cancelled it. I know it looks like a monsoon right now, but the lightning is what made us call it off.

SJ is so right! football rallies should always be at williams regardless of weather. set the mood so to speak....when it is ligthning though all things are off.

The mood was awesome with just SFC leadership, the band, and cheerleaders. We actually got a football and started playing on the field before it started lightning.
