I was up in L'Burg Sunday and Monday. On Monday afternoon, Paul Rutigliano took me on a tour of the new facilities, field, etc. (also gave me a couple of hats and shirts :P ) The new stadium turf is sweet! The operations center should be unrivaled in 1-AA.

I wish I could have played a game or two on this new turf. Man, it looks good!

I spoke with Paul about alumni relations, specifically with former players. This is something that they really want to get better at and get former players more involved. The thought is to create regional contacts and go from there. I think that's a really good idea.

I can't believe how much the school has changed - even in the last two years. It's definitely changed a TON since my student days. It was good to get back up there and certainly glad to be remembered. I mentioned to my wife that I guess it's a good thing when you see former coaches, etc. and they smile when they see you. Sure beats the opposite :-)

I got to see Bill Gillespie and Coach Williams. Bill is hugomongouso!! My wife couldn't stop staring at him. It was funny. Of course, Coach Williams hasn't aged a day it seems. Never known a classier man in my life.

Oh, well. There's my take on a recent visit. I really enjoyed it.

P.S. I was outside of the DeMoss building and this girl was on her cell phone telling, I guess, her roommate to stay out of her §HIT! She kept repeating it and REALLY loud. I got to thinking - wow, these kids there today don't even care about reps, huh

Vegas,

sorry I missed your visit buddy. Like I said on the phone we just keep missing each other. I like the regional contacts. I think that is a step in the right direction. Coach Rocco simply gets it. He understands all of these "little things" that need to be done to get support. Barber does too. I hope you got a chance to meet him. Too bad you won't be in town for the game tomorrow....Tell Papa Vegas I said hello. Hope to meet Mrs Vegas real soon man. You guys have to get back up for a football game on the new turf. You would have had a blast playing on that field now.

Scar,

I know, man! We always miss each other. It was so last minute that I didn't really have time to "warn" anyone 8)

We'll hook it up soon, though, man!

Smooth - I'm pretty sure I'll be up for Super Conference. What gets me, though, is there's no game (home or away) the Saturday before! They used to always have homecoming, etc. scheduled near or around Super Conference.

I'll be there probably Sat-Wed of Super Conference. No excuses this time for all of us to not hook it up.

Smooth -

When you get a chance, have Scar tell you about the garbage win he got against me on NBA Live '95 (or '96) back in the day.

He knows the one I'm talking about. Straight up TRASH!!

My friends think I am the luckiest guy on earth when it comes to those games but if I do it year after year, game after game, is it really luck or skill? Vegas, we used to have some battles in NBA Live. And yes I remember getting a "bogus" win back then at your house. Those were the days....Super Conference is a great time for us all to get together when you are up here man. I will be sure I am in town during that time no matter what.

i think it maybe a bit of both skill and luck. im telling you vegas, when i go over to stately scarborough manor, my man SCAR is always mixing it up with someone playing video games, and he usually wins. so i will give him some props!

Scar knows who his main competition is - he just hasn't faced him in a few years :-)

I can honestly say that Vegas and Stephon Leary are the only guys that can get in my head. I can out think and out strategize almost any opponent but those guys know me way too well....Vegas, you gotta hit me with Madden online 07. I am 20-6 right now with a couple of silly losses or I'd really be doing well. I haven't hit my stride yet though. Still learning the new features. Maybe when you come up we will have to get it going again. And Smoothie, thanks for vouching for me dog! You have seen me at work. I'm still waiting for Dominique Jones (coach Jones' son), Anthony Smith, Tyler Baker and some others to stop running from me
